New card help!

This would be a awesome card for the money:

I've narrowed it down to the 550 Ti, 560 Ti, and the 6870. It looks like the 6870 is the best way to go as far as cost and performance increase, but it's neck and neck between the 6870 and the 560 Ti...

i would grab the evga gtx 560 ti out of the 560's just cause evga offers a 90 day step up program that is really nice if you want to upgrade soon after if some new card comes out, and evga does limited lifetime warranties

Yeah, I looked into the EVGA's a little. They're the only 560 Ti's that my local Best Buy carries =P, but they are also the most expensive of my choices. What do you think about the Gigabyte 560 ti's?

Same with the 6870. Which one do you get? There's Sapphire, HIS, Powercolor, XFX, Diamond, Gigabyte, etc...

Yeah, kind of confusing isn't it. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it doesn't really matter...they are different manufacturers but must adhere to specs to build the card.

Look for:
DDR5 Memory, 1G or 2 G
Cooling...lots of fans is better (but louder too)
Pick a brand you trust...I like Gigabyte and MSI but I am not sure they are not really any better than the others.

Yeah that's pretty much what I thought, but wasn't sure. I too prefer Gigabyte, but wasn't sure if there were better brands for the same price. It is interesting though that most of the cards only have 1 fan, while all the Gigabyte ones have 2-3 fans.

Right now I'm leaning towards the Gigabyte 560 Ti from Newegg

The card comparison site puts the 560 Ti above the 6870 in FPS, but below in regular specs, which I thought was interesting, and if the 560 Ti is better than the 6870 in FPS, and the 560 regular stats are just barely less than the 560 Ti, then I would assume that the 560 regular has better FPS than the 6870 as well.
From what I found price wise:

Statswise: (my current card) 5750 < (much) GTX 550 < GTX 560 < (barely) GTX 560 Ti < 6870
But if you take FPS into account, 5750 < (much) GTX550 < 6870 < (assumed) GTX 560 < GTX 560 Ti

All of the following are Gigabyte variants:
6870: newegg - $190, $160 with rebate (also has free shipping so there's another $8-9 off)

GTX 560 Ti: newegg - $235, $205 w/ rebate

GTX 560: newegg - $190, $165 w/ rebate

GTX 550 Ti: newegg - $130, $110 w/ rebate

Pretty much comes down to Brand preference.
ATi 6870 has the best stats and for a great price, while the nVidia GTX 560 Ti has the best FPS for a slightly higher price, with it's slightly lesser variant being only a few dollars more than the 6870.

Don't buy from Best Buy, they are way to overpriced. Here is a Superclocked EVGA GTX 560 Ti for $234.00 after rebate. It is pretty cheap especially when compared to the significant performance increase over the HD 6870.

Thanks cpbagent. Yeah I saw the superclocked ones, but the problem is I don't have the best cooling system within my tower, and I'm afraid if I get anything overclocked, either the card, or my whole system will fry.
