Steve Jobs has died...

I would be that Apple falls apart and gets run into the ground now and Android takes the reigns...

Yeah, I don't think so. People really recognize Apple now and probably won't stop buying stuff from them anytime soon. Besides, Steve Jobs had already resigned from his CEO position.

This is sad news.

Steve Jobs R.I.P. I will never use a mac, but I will recognize a revolutionary businessman .

Without Steve, it might be possible that eGO, home-computers, or even my beloved C:SS might not be here today. He revolutionized computers and all of technology. What a brilliant and extraordinary man.

Actually he stole most of the GUI feautures and mouse interface for Mac OS 1 from the Xerox Alto GUI.

Really? Going to turn this thread into a bashing apple/Jobs thread?

Man, this world really has gone cold.

GF.

R.I.P. Jobs. You were one of my heroes. I watched all the keynotes I could when you'd announce new products :D

" He didn't revolutionize or change anything. ipods, iphones, ipads are all just redos of products that were already out, but none of you decided to appreciate because it didn't have a flashy commercial."

It takes a genius to transform a plastic circle into a hula hoop.

Guys, he didn't do anything for tech other than market the hell out of it. He didn't contribute at all to computing, he contributed to selling them.

I feel bad for the people who say that Steve Jobs did nothing for technology. Obviously there are going to be those people, but they are really stubborn. If you don't realize the impact that Steve Jobs had in all aspects of technology then you should do some research into the things hes done over the years.

America and the world has definitely lost a very innovative man, who was a genius at what he did.

There have been 3 remarkable apples that have changed this world

Adam and Eve's Apple
Isaac Newton's Apple
Steve Jobs's Apple

RIP Mr. Jobs

Also, as for Steve Job's contribution to the tech industry:

  • iMac: simple, effective, efficient, and user friendly.
  • iPod: Started the MP3 player revolution. Most successful MP3 player line of all time. (very easy to use)
  • iPhone: Started the smartphone revolution. (intuitive to a fault)
  • iPad: Started the tablet revolution. (just freakin cool)

If cancer hadn't taken his life, how much do you want to bet that he would continue to innovate and evolve products already on the market? Anyone that says Steve Jobs didn't do anything but "market the hell out of their products" doesn't know what they're talking about. The man was a tech genius. End of discussion.

Say what you want about the man, but he has had a hand in all of our lives, and mostly it was positively. Sad to see him go.

If you don't have anything nice to say you might as while just not post in this thread.

lol MadPistol (sorry but I like Newton's apple the most)

I would say the iPod is the greatest innovation Steve Jobs and his company produced. It may just be a hard drive with a screen and interface, but it took over the MP3 market, and most likely was a building block to the development of the iTouch, iPhone, and iPad. It is also probably the reason why Apple likes flash memory more than HDD memory too lol. Also, while Apple didn't invent the mouse, they were the first commercial computer company to use them, which led to the mouse's popularity.

They may not be the company reinventing the wheel, but they are definitely making one cool looking solid aluminum wheel, with a track pad :P

R.I.P. Steve
