Alright, I've a question about preordering Skyrim.

Yes, you can do it through retailers (walmart, gamestop, etc.), no problems there. My question is preordering it and Steam. I heard it's a Steamworks game, so hypothetically, if I preordered a PC version of the game from Wal-Mart, will it be possible that I can add the game to my Steam account?

Can someone confirm if it is a Steamworks game?

And just curious, who already has preordered the game, and looking forward to getting the free bonus cloth map?

Thanks in advance.

It was confirmed a while back, and yes that means the retail version will require activation with Steam (at which point the game will be tied to your account).

I ordered it for $48 bucks from Newegg a couple months ago. Unfortunately, that means no release-date shipping, but I'm willing to wait a few days. If Amazon extends their $10 credit to the PC version, I'll switch my pre-order to there.

Bottom line, just like the last 2 cod's, you can install it and throw the CD away. It'll be pretty useless then, except the book.

Oh and you could preload it on Steam (if you bought it there) and play the game at 12am the release day.

But no cloth map.

Decisions, decisions....

I preorded from gamestop (pc version) to get it at midnight. Steam usually unlocks their games at like 3pm EST the day of.

I pre-ordered at GS in May as well. Went in to pay it off last week and mentioned the cloth map to the employee (totally worth it IMO) and he had no idea what I was taking about, tried to talk it up as a GS exclusive. *sigh*

Cloth Map for the win. What an amazing gift.

Its actually not a cloth map, but thicker paper. Kinda lame, IMO.
