Imperial or Stormcloak?

That's the question boys and girls.

I personally have chosen the Stormcloaks.

Imperial. The Stormcloaks are a bunch of racists, no better than the Aldmeri Dominion. The main argument I see for siding with the Stormcloaks is because people are against the Aldmeri, but that is a silly argument. The Empire is only at tenuous peace with the Dominion, they aren't allied, and the Empire united stands a much better chance at defeating the Dominion. All the Empire would really have to do is ally with the Argonians and incite rebellion in Elswyer and Valenwood, since the Khajiit and Bosmer have no real love for the Dominion. Really they don't even need the Argonians, if the Bosmer were to start a Wild Hunt (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Wild_Hunt) against the Aldmeri they are pretty much ensured to lose. Then Talos worship can be reinstated, which is the main reason the Stormcloaks state for rebelling. If the Empire loses Skyrim, then the Aldmeri would just have to take the rest of Hammerfell to cut off the Empire from High Rock, which would make it just Cyrodiil. Then the Empire would definitely fall to the Altmer.

Together we stand, divided we fall.

I played as the Stormcloaks and then felt bad for the Empire. I mean, the Empire is now seriously weakened and the Aldmeri Dominion is now again able to destroy it. So now I have started a new character to side with the Imperial Legion and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Plus, I like the Imperial accents better than the Nord ones.

Stormcloak on my Orc 2h mace warrior.

Imperial on my Redguard Dual wield 1h mace/sword warrior.

Question/Problem/Obstacle....sOLVED :)

I haven't chosen a side but I will be going with Empire. The Aldmeri Dominion went too far. There's a book in-game that details the war, and I read it cover to cover.

They need a united Empire. The Aldmeri Dominion have told me that the treaty suits their needs and they will break it when they are ready to. Plus they have a file on Ulfric that I chanced upon and it is quite interesting. I won't spoil it because you'll see it yourself when you're playing the main story.

I will just say this, the Thalmor have stated and recorded that it benefits them to keep the two sides fighting without resolution. They are more afraid of Skyrim if it is united. The Aldmeri Dominion have done horrendous things and must be resisted by Tamriel as a whole if there is hope.

Stormcloaks here, Skyrim is free from the shackles of the Empire, let the Dominion come and face us united! =P

Stormcloaks but not for any political-esque reasons. I'm just playing a very resentful dark elf battlemage and being arrested and almost put to death is a pretty big resent creating event.

Stormcloaks. Imperials just tried to randomly execute me (there was no reason, your name wasn't even on the list!) and expect me to help them? Plus killing high elves will just make things better for the world of Tamriel (anyone do the college of winterhold line? Then you know what high-elves are like, and why decapitating them while in mid-speech makes the world go round).

Can't wait for the next elder scrolls or some dlc that will continue the storyline here in some epic manner (you can go far with this.... very far, and perhaps some players will even mod it to go that far).

The Stormcloaks never stood up and told the Imperials that you weren't a rebel and that you shouldn't be executed. They were perfectly happy to let you die for their cause. They are just as easy to resent as the one Imperial Captain.

Nothing a prisoner says has any bearing on their captor's intention to execute them. Hey, personal bodyguards to Ulfric, is this guy one of you? is just silly. If anything the Stormcloak prisoner actually spoke wisdom when he said die with honor to the thief.

Even if it would have no effect on the outcome, they should still make the effort. "This person is not a Stormcloak, and by executing them you validate our cause even further." Doesn't take much effort to say and puts them on the moral high ground. By not saying anything they show that they really only care for themselves.

Imperial. I really thought about the Stormcloak, but just didn't see a need for overturning the current regime. Yeah, so an Imperiol did try to lop off my noggin, but we all laughed about that over some mead later. All good.

ironically a stormcloak even though they are racist towards my kind, but i choose to prove my worth and win freedom for my people who are discriminated against! how can they hate a dark elf that leads them to battle and spear points freeing skyrim!

1 Nord Warrior with Stormcloaks.
1 Imperial assassin/archer with Imperials
1 Dark elf wizard that hates and kills everyone.
Problem solved.

I have one character with each side. I really like that they made the political fight strong enough to make people care, and I also dislike it because I don't really fully support either side regardless of which side I choose to help.

This game is so full of win I can't stand it. I gotta play more now....

Being a proud Nord, I chose Stormcloaks and don't regret it. For some reason they're still standing around the Solitude courtyard ever since I finished that quest.

You don't enjoy the Stormcloak's accents? Fine then! Come Stormcloack brothers, back to the Highlands! Ahem, I mean Windhelm.

I picked stormcloaks but I don't find it too appealing, the only stormcloak I have come to enjoy being around is Ralof... Ulfric is just to sensitive and complains about this and that too much for my taste lol. Plus it didn't help that the new Jarl of Windhelm after capturing it for the stormcloaks had the nerve to say to me "Your not as stupid as you look". >_> the original Jarl was pretty friendly, I mean he gave me items, made me a thane, and gave me my first companion >:[
