My loading times are horrible. The patch was supposed to fix them but apparently not. I have tried the registry fix but that just causes Battlelog / Origin to say that the game is not installed, or possibly I'm doing something wrong.
I have a fairly decent computer (AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE, ATI 6870 1GB model, 4GB RAM and a 640Gb 7200RPM HDD etc) so I don't think that's it because once I get ingame it runs smoothly. :/

Also sorry if this is supposed to be in the Tech Help section but I thought there might be someone on this sub-forum experienced in this issue and thus I have better chances of finding help.
 
loading times on a 7200 rpm harddrive are always going to long on a game like this, my best advice to is get a Solid State Drive (SSD).

You could also try a disk clean-up / defragmentation, also windows firefall is known to cause a lot of issues with BF3 loading and connection.
 
The problem with a solid state drive is limited capacity as well as a high price per gigabyte ratio. Often times they must be used in conjunction with a traditional HDD (For Media that does not necessarily require fast loading speeds). And while they are very fast (Intel SSD in my Laptop). It may be hard to justify that cost for simply an expedient loading time. Perhaps a Raid 0 configuration might be more reasonable or just try and optimize your current drive's loading times.
 
Thanks for the help guys. Nothing seemed to work - so yeah, I'm gonna shell out for a 30GB or so SSD on christmas and install my Windows and Battlefield there.
 
there is a patch today, maybe you should wait to see if it helps. hasnt been a patch in weeks.
