new patch is the game better or ruined?

I kinda like the flashlight tho, I can't for the life of me figure out why snipers sit at their spawn with it on, maybe showin-off, but it makes em easy to hit

I think what you're talking about is scope glare and not the flashlight.

I like this patch. It's probably the first patch that I really liked.

- flashlight nerf = win
- irnv nerf = less complaining from community
- AN-94 = it's a good gun now. i really like it.
- T-UGS fix = gives me ribbons now
- chatbox fix = awesome. hated the old one

now all i want is:
(1) more # of squads each game. 10-12 squads would be awesome.
(2) put G3 back to what it used to be
(3) fix supressor bug on guns as M16A3, Val. I can't wait to use Val with truly working supressor.

I think what you're talking about is scope glare and not the flashlight.

This is prob the tactical scopes. They give off a glare when the light hits them. Also i feel like the "nerfing " of weapons was not needed for IF sights and tac lights. Tac lights are ment to blind people as you enter a room so it can subdue the person in side. Since the"nerfed " tac light i feel like they are bring the game to more of a Cod game feel were its not realistic any more.

Edit: I would like to see in marksman classes that a tripod and pull bolt can be on a gun at the same time. In a real gun having both is possible idk why they decided to take that away. Ones in the gun and other is on the front How do they affect eachother

AN-94 is super OP now like it was in BC2, which to me its bad.

Cya on the battlefield

I don't agree, there a nitch in playstyles that its good for but i still get owened using it at close range by any other non burst assault rifle or if someone gets the drop on me. Its nice to have a rifle you can slap a 4x on and reliably take out further distant targets with. wish the underslung rail worked on it so i can easily access my m26 for close range /sad

I do not get it, it is a night vision scope yet everyone uses it during the day and it works.

I pretty much like everything that came with this patch. I'm happy about the IRNV and Tac Light nerfs, to me they're both anti-fun attachments and detract from gameplay.

I'm a bit upset about the changes they made to rocket pods, they're horrible inaccurate unless you're flying in a perfectly straight line. You used to be able to adjust for skew and still fire accurately with enough skill. Now if you aren't in a perfectly straight approach rockets fly everywhere.

I would like them to create a "DMZ" around uncaps. Where you cant shoot till you are a certn distance away from your uncaps and enemies bullets cant penitrate your uncap. With the exception of the stationary AA it can shoot out or be destroyed by heli's and planes. This could remove any chanche of base raping and spawn camping

1. Flashlight is still OP. If you call blinding the entire screen at medium range in broad daylight balanced..... ........ ........

2. IRVN is useless. There's a difference between 'fixing' and 'breaking'. They didn't nerf the IRVN they nerfed it and added a fog-blind system to it thus breaking it.

It is obvious that DICE did not test out what they changed.

The quality of DICE's so called 'FIX'

** i can't wait to see what else they 'fix' in the not too distant future **

It is nowhere near anything that one would call "over powered".

AN-94 facts:

(1) highest recoil of all assault rifles
(2) second lowest (after G3) rate of fire
(3) same damage as other rifle
(4) very high reload time

also you'll barely see people use it.

is it me, or is it impossible for one engineer to kill one helicopter if he has flares

If the pilot is any good that's the way it should be. However, since the ground to air missile reloads faster than the flares do you have the upper hand if he/she stays close and never leaves your sights.

In other words.. it's still a bad gun. Yup.

The AN-94 is pretty good to me, everyone is just stuck to the M416 + F2000, which aren't all that good. The AEK971 is better, although I can drop anyone with a ak-74m, that gun just won't quit lol

im not a big fan of nerfing weapons or certain classes in video games. alot of time these patches are to quell the part timers into staying a little longer. while the fans deal with it. they usually out number the fan boys.

this patch improved my game from crashing as much while loading, and improved the gimble on the jets. i think they improved the damage a jets rocket pods do to the mobile AA. Didnt need all 14 to disable it yesterday, of coarse tht just could of been a fluke. there is alot about this patch tht i like. not to mention the antenna falling on the map caspian . that is kewl.

:thumbup1: thumbs up from me

allthough there is some improvement i still sorta disagree nerfing tactical and irnv.... also they should have improved their anti cheat system. kind of suprises me they didn't.

Just because you can't aim doesn't make it a bad gun ;) The AN94 is super sick, yet balanced weapon in this game now.

As for the patch, I'm loving it. I'm dropping people left and right now that people can't spot me a mile away with the IRNV and spray down the F2000 or USAS me to pieces with frag rounds.

I think the patch helped a lot.

The tactical light in my opinion was the most necessary. I know some people say they don't see it very often or it isn't that big of a deal, but I call BS on those people. 50% of the people I come across in this game have it on their primary weapon, and almost 80% have it on their sidearm. Fighting against a guy who has an 8 foot wide ball of light as bright (or brighter) than the in-game sun is very unrealistic. And don't even get me started on how it still works outdoors in the broad daylight.

IRNV, while very realistic, was really a noob item. I've had it for a month now and just started using it the day before the patch came out, simply because I was tired of being killed by people using it. Seriously, go look at some of the with/without photos of the IRNV, you'll see images where it looks like there are no enemies until he pulls up the scope, at which point you'll see 3-4 guys hiding that you would not have noticed before. IMHO it SHOULD be like this - you SHOULDN'T know they are there, as this requires more skill and requires you to be less of a run-and-gun COD player.

Mortar - definitely required. I played on the eGO 64-man server the other day, was stuck on the other team opposite several eGO players. They were ALL using mortars (I was tempted to jump in to vent and call them pussies :P), but seriously I couldn't take more than a few steps in any direction without getting killed by a mortar round. At that point it's just not fun, and with my limited gaming time I want to have FUN, not be the victim of some noob using a noob-tube easy-mode button.

Overall a good patch, bringing BF3 closer to what it should be: a war simulation that is in between COD and ARMA (closer to ARMA) on the realism-o-meter.

I went 73 kills - 3 death with AN 94

burn ;)
