Its an ok set up, I wouldnt pay that much to see gaps in my picture though. If I connect my HDMI cable to my computer i could play on my 42 inch flatscreen which is hanging over my comp monitor and play with no gaps, but prefer to play on my 25 inch monitor instead.

Agreed. Plus, console kids like to argue that a bigger screen is a better experience. Not really, just get a decent sized quality LED and if it's too small, sit closer to it. Not to mention even in 1080p, Xbox looks like crap.

One of the benefits of having a wide screen setup like this is the player's peripheral vision goes up dramatically, almost like having eyes in the back of your head.

Yeah, big screens result in too much space for a person to look around on. This extra screen space is helpful in Real Time Strategy games or Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games because you can see with a wider angle and the more space you can see the better, but with FPS's, which are partially based on your reaction time, you need to be able to see the slightest movement. A slight movement ten inches away from your focus is less noticeable than a slight movement two inches away from your focus.
