Tribes: Ascend

<div style="width: 550px; text-align: center" align="center">Have you ever Ascended into something greater than your average FPS?

Many of you know what this article is about. Recently Hi-Rez Studios decided to add a new chapter to the already highly successful Tribes series with a game called Tribes: Ascend.

This new game brings a whole new meaning to skiing. Literally. Tribes: Ascend is a fast-paced first person shooter which combines hi-tech weaponry with traditional landscapes and of course the game modes of old: Capture the flag, Team Deathmatch, and a personal favorite from Tribes 2, Rabbit.

Tribes Ascend is the sequel to Tribes 2, which was made back in the 90's. Tribes 2 featured graphics that were considered top-notch for its time and provided fun for hundreds of thousands of players.

This game is in closed-beta and will require a beta key, however many eGO admins and players have been providing members with access to keys in the past few weeks. Just ask fellow players if they currently have an extra.

If you haven't tried it... do yourself a favor and check it out.

It will be a free to play game. But you will be able to buy "Boosters" and "Tribes Gold (otherwise known as shazbucks)" to speed up your leveling and loadout purchase.
The game is still in beta... so there are some bugs and refinement that still needs to happen. But overall the game is alot of fun.
If you've never played a FPS with a Jetpack or skiing .... LOL.. its adds so much to the game.

Oh.. and one more thing.. Please don't say it looks like Halo..
Tribes was out way before Halo... Halo looks like Tribes :)

I played the heck out of tribes and tribes 2.

In a few more weeks once I have my pc. I'm definatly going to be playing this one. So watch out for me in the servers. ;)

In my honest opinion about this game, this game is a cheaper knock off of unreal tournament 3. Except in Unreal tournament you can customize your character with out having to buy stuff to do it. I think I will uninstall it now.

Tribes came out before Unreal Tournament. Nice try though. :lol:

Longtime player of Tribes 1, 2 and now Ascend. Love this new game and remember it is free to play.

when i say cheaper knock off i didnt mean they copied it, i mean it plays bad in comparison to UT3 which plays 10 X better and looks 100 X better.
 
Great game! And it's going to be free so you have nthoing to lose really
 
I used to be a big fan of Starsiege: Tribes when It came out, it was a present from a cousin, I loved the game until the master server was brought down when sierra closed (as I remember ). I hope this one is true to its bases, if it is its going to be another jewel in the FPS showcase.
 
Thanks to everyone who played tonight. We had 9 eGO members in a match server today. That's incredibly difficult to do since you have to join off friends and no private servers exist yet.

It was a blast
