ok so this is something i have had in mind for quite some time now.
the bad communication skills by whoever mans the live chat support service, wether its a human or a computer program i don't know but if id had to guess i would go for the latter one. but if its a program i would say its poorly coded, if its a human i just find it it wierd that anyone can communicate that badly (just to be clear i don't want to be mean here)
the things they say can sometimes be completely out of context and other times just outright redicolous... for allmost every issue i get this answer back "try reinstalling the game".. and one particular time i asked why EA doesn't ban people who obviously hacks (and this is all true) i got this answer back "you want your account banned?" I almost facepalmed when i read that
as a conclution here i really think EA should reprogram the live chat answering service/hire people who is more compitent for the job and who has better communication skill :)

whats your oppinion on this issue??

I have contacted EA support...... i think 7 times? but anyways each time i know i get a person and they are quite knowledgeable and help me but that was 2 months ago so maybe they like changed it to automated sometimes instead of people but idk

By looking at their names, I can safely guess a number of their reps are from third-world countries. As a result, they are not always as knowledgeable or easy to understand. Why does EA do this? It costs less, plain and simple.

Being from the third world does not make them less knowledgeable, many of the best minds are from these countries as well. Customer support everywhere is a pain, you put a call center in the US and you face the same issues, many times its even worse than putting a call center in some foreign country. This issue is mainly specific to the person who was taking care of this request and seems like he was having a bad day or wasnt really good at his job to start with. Lets not generalize this at all, we have many members of eGO who originate from from these so called "Third World" countries also.

Yeah, I've had some frustrating CS encounters in the past...

The problem with modern CS is that too often they just ask questions from a list that vaguely relate to your issue, rather than actually working through it.

Aside from that, it can be somewhat frustrating (on the phone that is) when their accents are so thick that you have to ask "could you please repeat that?" several times.

However, I somewhat enjoy calling CS. As PBJ said, a lot of the time they are in other countries.

Especially once, when I was having Windows 7 activation issues, I called the MS CS and talked to this guy from India. He was very helpful, and while I was waiting for the files to load, he asked me about the "Avatar" movie. He mentioned how cool the special effects were and the fact that most of it was CG. I thought it was hilarious that I was talking to someone from the other side of the world, that I'm sure lives a completely different lifestyle, about this movie that I had just seen a couple weeks before.

Don't get me wrong Killer. They may be knowledgeable, but many of them are willing to accept less pay than someone from the USA, Europe, or other larger countries. As Randy said, often it is mainly because of the "answer sheets" they are forced to read off of, as well.

"answer sheets" they are forced to copy and paste, as well. **fixt** :)

During my days in BF2, I had to call on a regular basis, a couple of times they would get on the phone and you could just hear the "Oh no not this guy again" in their voice. My Beemermarine soldier got hacked one night and I called them all excited, told them what happened, and for the first time, they got their serious on. I was e-mailed following this and it again was all serious. To this day I don't know what they did to my account but I can tell you they did something, but, I was never again hacked. I left that game swearing to never again buy or deal with EA, then they sell BC2 for 5 bucks...:)
