I would like to give a heads up to our new =e='s
You are our first line in punk free servers, you can give warnings, yes I know it is not a lot, but, with that warning given, and an =eG= or an =eGO= enters the server he may give a kick, without warning him/herself. This is a time saver, also you are the eyes and ears you will see and hear what the others either can't or don't.
So by all means warn, if the trouble persist be on vent or steam or better yet both, and get ahold of a =eG=,=eGO=, an adviser or leader someone will come help you.
I myself may not be on our vent but I am always on steam (same name as here) and will heed your call, the only reason I would not is I am asleep. I am NOT on BF3 as of yet, but, I am on BC2 and will go where ever I have to.

Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't sure if we could warn people or not.

As per "Official" guidelines, if there are no admins on, e's yes, please warn, but also seek an eG or eGO to further handle (kicking etc.) ASAP. If there is an admin on, they will be the first to warn, however, if they are afk, feel free to step in and again, contact an admin ASAP. It looks good on you to follow the chain of command, and we will hear about members being proactive about this, and trying to work as a team player in the community.

Thanks for posting this, Beemer. To be honest, I didn't even think of it; that alone is an accomplishment. :P

Also, if there is a troublemaker, remember that as an e member you can post a ban request, and inform admins of in-server issues via Ventrilo.

Thanks for being members of eGO!

And just a tip, you can indeed warn, but don't aggravate pubs, as A) that can make people quit, and B) that could cause more trouble than before, and you could need an admin to hand out some kicks/bans.

eG's can't ban.......but we can kick, at least most of us can. Don't get into an argument with someone, it just makes it worse.

Thanks, fellas. There have been numerous occasions where needing someone to pop in and take action was necessary. The only one I had in my STEAM list was h9 but I will add you Beemer.

Also make sure to be polite and professional while warning. Please and thank you go a long way.

Examples:
Please watch the language while on eGO servers, thank you!
Please do not team kill it is considered griefing.
Please be respectful to all players while on eGO servers

Those just a few examples of good warnings. Usually a warning is enough to keep people in line.

Feel free to add me as well. You may find my Steam account on my forum account page.

I just thought to let the =e='s know that they are not powerless. I myself dont mind if an =e= warns while I am in game, I find it a help more than a hinderance, mainly because I can't be everywhere all the time, and can't see everything either...lol, though I will say the chain of command with this clan is followed by me as often as I can, to the point those who got their O's before me I tell them about an infraction, what was done about it BEFORE I kick or tban

Here's how it fits in my mind, in a perfect situation. One of each rank is on a server.

e warns.
eG kicks of problems persist.
eGO bans if perpetrator returns and causes more issues.

if they start being jerks and there's not an eG or eGO on warn the person they are on punk free servers which keeps a pg13 language... if they refuse to strighten their act up: get an admin and let them handle it from there

but allways remember: Don't let them get to you no matter what they say to you or others. Staying calm is the best way to take it

they got to understand if they can't follow the rules, they don't belong PERIOD.
and as PBJ pointed out, if no admin can be found, use the ban request forum.
if you decide to post a ban request heres a few tips:
-be as accurate as possible on the details
-post all the evidence you can gather. chat logs are recorded and can be posted as evidence. Chat logs are found in the players stat page at http://edgegamers.gameme.com/players/bfiii which records all activity on our servers
-stay calm and colective, writing in all caps rage will do you no good

now that you have all the evidence you need, post the ban request and the leadership will review it

its just as easy as that :)

Would there be away where you could supply the names of the admins for the BFc2 servers.

Vent is not a favourite of mine but everytime I play I am always in the eGo steam room and Ego Dods room, no one is there but hey.

The only admin I have in steam is Beamer and I think he is 6-7 hours behind me.
Add me in steam as there are loads of new chaps popping up now:)

There are only the odd undesirable player who wants to spoil the flow of game, but it is annoying:(

thats not true, i see admins in the dod rooms in vent almost all day long, but as earlier mentioned, if an admin can't be reached either in vent, steam etc you can allways use the ban request section of the forum

Thanks for posting this Beemer as I was wondering if I could speak up as an =e=.

I do consider it somewhat like customer service when addressing an issue with a public player and aim to keep it cool and light-hearted. At the end of a round, I usually take a quick look at the line-up in the scoreboard to see if there are G's or GO's in game. If yes, I let them handle it, if no, I'm glad to know I can help.

I know some get upset when they're asked to follow the rules, but the very fact that rules are taken seriously by eGO is what kept me coming back and wanting to join up. It made for a whole lot of fun knowing I was playing on a server where others were there to play and have fun as well.

I agree, as someone no longer in eGO, i seem to have to tell people the rules a lot. But this message also goes out to eg and egos, plenty of whom I've seen ignore foul language. Also, it seems that the only time the servers are admind is between 5-8pm. After which there's no rules and i just impotently try to tell people to be nice, lol
