Unusually high ping

My ping is usually 60 on the CS:S servers. But, for the past few days, it's been up in the 200-300s. Anyone know a fix?

There has been lag/connection issues/crashes/etc recently for all of steam. There's no easy fix I guess until the powers that be at Valve deal with the problem.

Make sure you don't have anything downloading in the background or anything that may upload in the background. My pings been about the same despite the crashes.

It's not just a steam game. It's also evident on PS3. Strangely, I noticed no problems with TF2.

Are you connected to the internet? That's gotten me a few times.

But in all reality, you could try doing a speed test and just see if your net's bugging out on you.

Some IPS's secretly limit your internet over your pay month. Like for our comcast, fast at the beginning of the month, slower at the end, every month.
