Hey guys,

Im just getting 40-50 FPS in DOD:S.
My specs are good enough to get 200 probably. (I can run BF3 on low settings and get 40 fps.)

My drivers are up to date.

Anyone knows a solution?

Thanks:D

You may have to lower your graphics for the game because that can make you get better fps.

Fwiw, I recently upped my monitor's resolution and as a result DoD's resolution to match it. Apart from it taking a few days to re-learn how to aim (the new resolution is wider), I noticed I was now lagging when near smoke, which never used to happen.

I just lowered a bunch of my video options to low/medium, based on the information I found in this site. Appears to be have helped the smoke lag issue somewhat and has also given me something like 30-40 FPS more on average.

Of course, I'm sure YMMV.

I advise any other people suffering from the same Lag/ bad FPS issues to post their system specs with this program. http://www.hwinfo.com/

Some people seem to be fine, while others are lagging like they have a PC and graphics card from 6 years ago, and it's started to happen seemingly out of nowhere. I see comparison of hardware, software, and drivers to be a good idea to narrow it down significantly..

Generates a detailed system info list. It'll It's extremely user friendly. Just install, check off what's necessary, click generate report, Copy what's given, paste it, tag it with the CODE tags on the forums and post it.

be careful with these types of programs, they generally contain spyware and/or malware.

stick with well known programs such as cpu-z, gpu-z, and hwinfo.

I researched it before posting after I found it on another gaming forum (I had forgotten about hwinfo)

I am no expert but I remember I read some where in ego that under 100 fps is good to play on ego server, I will try and find the post but dont hold your breath.

Thanks for the replys guys, and sorry for the late reaction. But under the 100 is fine, but 27 is laggy and annoying.

Specs:
Intel Core i7-2630M 2.0Ghz
GT540M
8GB DDR3 Memory

Dont think I should lower the settings, right?

your CPU is causing a bottleneck. 2.0 ghz is VERY low for a game such as dods that does not really utilize multiple cores. Overclock your cpu to 2.4 or 2.6 ghz and your fps will shoot up to 200 or higher, provided there are no other issues within your hardware.

Just for a comparison, I ran DoDS and CSS at a constant 80+ fps nearly six years ago. I had a Pentium 4 processor, but the clock speed was 3.2 ghz, and since Source Engine relies heavily on single core computations, the lower clock speed hurts you a lot.

or maybe its a command setting in console..

Type this in console:

fpsmax 200

Update: After reverting back to old Drivers and after the server being restarted, I am still getting very very bad FPS and lag. I have noticed something though. steam and HL2 both seem to be taking up A LOT more resources than they usually do..

That means the lag is coming from either your client (computer) or ISP, or possibly both. Also, if your cpu usage has gone up for no apparent reason and you can rule out software changes as the source, you have either malware, a virus, or hardware failure.

Maybe try a system restore to rule out software problems.

Sorry to hear . but my next suggestion is move to Australia we always say "sheel be right mate" and it usually is. Maybe see you in Perth. Sorry mate yes that is me, I did warn you guys that you would be sorry if I learnt how to send pictures.

Hey blue, this is a fresh install of windows on a new HD. Could that perhaps be the issue, the new HD? Maybe some sort of problem developed with my ISP while i was repairing stuff.

Like I said before, if you can rule out software, only your ISP and hardware are left. If you are truly getting connection lag along with video lag, either your ISP is throttling your connection, your ISP's hubs are overloaded with traffic, or your video drivers are creating a problem.

To answer your question, no, a fresh install of your OS should not cause these type of problems.

You look like one of my neighbors. Now i want to call you Mr Joe and sell you candy for you and your sick wife. And then on Christmas weekend, i'll come over, bring some food that we cooked up and then you will randomly give me some Scratch Offs with a Christmas theme that i usually win about $5 on.
