How has your play style evolved in TF2?

Today I had a thought when playing engineer. When I first started playing this game my class of choice was engineer. My play style for him has changed since then, use to stick around 2Fort and protect the intel but as I kept playing I started mixing the different weapon combo's and discovered how effective the gunslinger/Pistol/Frontier Justice combo was. Now I stick with Gunslinger/Pistol/Shotgun mostly and seem to be a more effective engineer then I was back in the day.

Not saying so much as weapons make the difference but its interesting to look at the different play styles that come with them and how effective they are. So I'm curious if anyone else has noticed the same or something similar in their style of gaming for TF@?

what it is, is as you play more and more you see how others play and copy or adapt to their styles.

I've just been playing for a long time and I've gotten better and better over that period of time. I've found the weapons that I like to use most and learnt new things here and there.

i've learned on any class, the vanilla weapons are the best 95% of the time. i've also learned the more advanced tricks to some classes.

I've started to play more and more of the same classes. Like soldier and medic. Also I used to play it somewhat like call of duty and just go for kills and not dying. Now I pretty much die just to get a medic pick even in pub games where they have 3 medics. My KA/DR has stayed about the same as I think it would, maybe a little lower. But my K/DR has dropped a ton, somewhat due to playing so much medic.

What Xavier said, I've been playing for a long time but for some reason my play style / skill level of engineer has always been the same.
I'm OCD as hell about building placement and always see the angles where they could get shot from, which most of the time gets me killed because I take too long.

I usually never get better at games no matter how long I play it, I just like to play with friends

well that's sad.

All I've ever really learned from this game is that it's a game with depth. Every class feels fairly simple at face value, but there's so much more you can do with them or learn by playing them.

A lot, i still fail most of the times but since i started my sniping skills are better, best wep to use it's the huntsman but when you know how to get the lucky blind shots :P

nice discussion starter, if you need a easy teleportation, ask me anything Borokov's Transportations & Co. !)

I started off as a noob Medic, now I'm a noob Medic with Misc items.

Seriously, though, the big progress that I made wasn't finding a certain set, but using different weapons for different situations. Offensive? Medi Gun. Defense? Kritzkrieg. Only a couple weapons have absolutely no usefulness *coughquickfixcough*, it's just knowing when to use the right weapons at the right time.

Soldier is my main class and I've slowly changed pretty much everything about it. I used to play Direct hit only, then realized vanilla rocket launcher was good, then realized I really liked roaming with gunboats.

idk i play like every thing put if find a AWESOME combo ( fronter and gunslinger) or ( degaser and axeslinger) then i play that class a little more
