Where's YSD been?

I've been getting this question a lot lately, which implies that I haven't been around.

For starters, it is no secret that I spend a lot of the free time I have playing Minecraft. However, I do still regularly play in our DoD:S servers...just not as YoSpankDawg. :sneaky2: So I haven't really gone anywhere, I just keep a lower profile.

This is also rather evident on the forums. I've thought about going back to being the old YSD on the forums, but it's a very high maintenance-low return role, especially since eGO seems to be more interested in a high recruiting + low retention rate system instead of a moderate recruiting + rich experience system, which has resulted in probably the dullest era the DoD:S forums have ever experienced.

Still, I have thought about making a "comeback" (which we've already established isn't really a comeback so much more as it is a "speaking back out"), as some people have suggested, just...not quite yet. I'm slowly getting back into forum prowling with my new game/competition, where you guys get to make fun of me for notoriously having never seen many movies.

And mark my words...I will be back to take the DoD:S forums by storm...when the time is right...

Make a thread and talk about why you should be promoted like you did a while back.. That crap was funny. I remember thinking "who the hell is this dude" when I first my my G almost 2 years ago.. lololol

Our recruiting numbers are up and I'd say most of my recruits have stuck around, so I would venture to bet that if we did a dods role call our retention numbers would be up as well.

Yeah, but the most engaging thread on the forums has a name synonymous for boring and mundane ("Routine")...unless we want to count our very own DoD:S Soap Opera, taking place in the form of the SoCal Meetup:

"This week in SoCal Meetup Janette complains to Frank that they have been trying to set up a rendezvous for three months now and nothing has happened (ok that part actually has some truth to it). Frank is in love with Alice, but she doesn't want anything to do with Thomas or Greg. Louis announces he is pregnant, so the meetup might have to wait another two months until July."

I agree, there are no interesting threads anymore. An interesting thread used to pop out of nowhere. EXAMPLE

well if you want suggestions, a redone eGO's finest and more weekly interviews would be entertaining.

Blue, this isn't going to be as fun if you don't take every damn thing I say seriously and try to "set me straight"...hahaha

I think there should be a compition for the best thread of the month!!! Its where our divsion adviosors look at all the thread keep a couple they like and at the end of the month say which they though was the best. The winner could get like a free t shirt or something!

That will spice the threads up:laugh:

Nice to see you around here instead of building that massive structure in minecraft. ;)

YSD, why don't you apply to be a reporter on the Newsletter Team. Then your ramblings will be "official":) And I get to edit them, MUHAHA. Contact Quaffer if you are interested.

Well I suppose if the only reason you are sticking around is the forum, then yes, the forum retention rate is down. However, it takes people like you to work hard and make the dods forums more epic!

I did join...and then I clearly said, "What do you want me to write about?" and I was given no response. So then I asked again, and I was told, "Just give a brief description about what a division is doing." and the only divisions not taken I had literally no knowledge of, so I was told, "Write about what you want." So I did that, and I was told, "No, we need these division summaries for the newsletter. So I said, "Nope, not playing this game." and stopped. A similar thing happened when I joined Media Team (which is well-known for timely and substantial production).

You have yet to answer my question! How. Does. Louis. Get. Freakin. Pregnant!

Also, Smilo, i miss that thread so much.
