LucasArts announces 'mature' Star Wars 1313 game

Just please no 'Surprise! It's an MMO!' or 'Single Player is a 2 hour experience, but the multiplayer is where it's at!' and I'm sure it will be a fine game

edit: saw footage today. looks good.

I'm confident they won't pull off that "IT'S NOW AN MMO!" trope this time. Making one type of character into an entire MMO would be... iffy, at best, not to mention they still have TOR.

This seems intriguing. If it's anywhere near as good in practice as it sounds on paper, or even if they just update and grit-tify Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, I'll be happy.

Sounds interesting, but at the same time it has horribly bad vibes coming from it of "ZOMG CALL OF DUTY MEETS STAR WARZ!!!" also... I'm hoping it's more along the lines of what the Jedi Knight series was though.

I didn't get that at all. COD isn't gritty or dark in any semblance of the words. Mature? Sure, it has gore and cussing and levels where you massacre innocent people, but I don't think the above are what LucasArts will go for, IMHO.

Looking at the picture (about to show SW geekiness, forewarning), I'm guessing the time period is actually after the Clone Wars and Old Republic because it shows a Lambda shuttle with two Tie escorts. Maybe Black Sun will be involved since you'll be playing as a criminal in the Coruscant underworld...

I'm not too surprised it's after the Old Republic since that's 4000 years before the whole Vader thing. That and I think Bioware has some intellectual property rights over that whole era.

Not talking about looks, just the overall vibe of the description they gave.

"As opposed to most Star Wars games which let you play as a Jedi and wield the force, players in Star Wars 1313 will instead use human skills and gadgets."

Granted a laser blaster isn't anywhere close to an AK-47 or anything, but it still has that vibe of CoD to me.

COD wasn't the first nor the last game to allow you to use human skills and gadgets, not by several decades. I'm still not seeing the correlation.

Usually when a dev team calls a game "mature", the game usually turns out to be pretty immature.

I think the only games that didn't turn out that way was The Witcher series. However, I'm still gonna keep waiting for more information before I make judgments about it.

Looks great so far from the gameplay i dont know why i cant sit down and watch these movies
