With the thoughtful permission from Wilson!!, we will start hosting 6v6 and Highlander PuG's!
Now, you're probably lost currently and you're asking yourself, "What is a PuG, Nik?". A PuG stands for a Pick-Up Game. You know, they are those kinds of games that you played as a kid if you couldn't make the local Basketball team. You would get some of your friends together, choose teammates, and start playing to certain win conditions. That is what we're planning to do here for you guys, so you can either get yourself more involved and familiar in the competitive TF2 format, along with getting to know a few others as well!
Nik, do I have to be on any competitive team in eGO to join these PuG's?
No. As long as you are apart of the eGO Competitive Team Steam Group, then you'll be able to particiapte in these PuG's. If you're not in the Steam Group, feel free to ask Wilson!!, Kevimaster, or myself to send an invite your way.
Nik, do I need any certain programs for this?
Yes. We would like you to download Mumble so that you are able to join in on choosing the teams and that you will be able to communicate with everyone through there. You can download Mumble here and you may ask Wilson!! or myself for the Mumble Information, as well as how to set up your Mumble.
So, how exactly does this all work out?
What will happen is that there will be an Announcement on the Steam Group that a PuG will be starting and that everyone will get into the Mumble Server until it fills up. Once it fills, we will have two members volunteer to be captain. If you are captain, you must play Medic, even if you would not like to. Then, we will enter the League Server, choose a map in the server that everyone would be down to play, and we will play that one. Before the match starts, we will choose to either do a One Hit Wonder (one match just for fun) or a Best of Three (choose 3 maps to play and first team to 2 wins recieves the win for the PuG).
I didn't get picked for the PuG. What can I do now?
Unfortunately, if you are not picked for a PuG, but you are still able to PuG, you may stay in Mumble to wait to see if someone leaves without notice. If no one does leave the match, you're more than welcome to watch the SourceTV of the match and we will make sure that you are picked for the next PuG that we play.
May I use any weapon that I wish to?
No. We will be using the UGC 6v6 Match Plug-In for now until we decide to switch. That means that any weapon that is on the ban list on their website will not allowed to be used.
YOU DIDN'T ANSWER ANY OF MY QUESTIONS NIK!!
Good to know dawg. 8)
In all seriousness, if you still have any questions, message Wilson!! or myself on the Forums, Steam, or find us on Ventrilo.
Happy Fragging!
