talking about those apps, there's an app called Ventrilode which is for iPhones and iPods. Though you have to pay 5 dollars, which is not good.

I got this for my iphone ages ago but finally used it for the ego vent. But it shows up as all rooms locked for some reason. Any idea why that is? I've had to ask a guildy with vent control to move me down everytime so far on my iphone which is surely inconvenient for them.

I use it all the time, since I can't play and use Ventrilo at the same time. Plus, my Galaxy SII microphone is better than my PC mic.

It's not available for the iOS. There was an app a long time ago, but it violated the AppStore ToS and was removed. You can get it if you have a jailbroken iPhone, but it's not very good imho.
