I'm building myself a bad ass new rig to game on and I was wondering should I buy 64 bit windows 7 or something else
OS:$139.99 Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit - OEM

Windows 8 kinda looks a bit stupid to me.
I mean I know it's new and you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover but
I already have 7 on my current machine and I love it.
I don't think anything is broken with 7 and microsoft is already rummored to be working on windows 9 so I guess they too also know 8 isn't the cake!

What do you guys think?

My opinion is go with 7 if you like it. I'm going to totally skip 8 if I can.

Windows 8 is made for touch screen. I have an Asus ET2410 with a 23.6 in touch screen so I was thinking of getting a copy but I wouldn't bother with it otherwise.

Agreed ... skip 8... go with either Ubuntu or Windows 7

lol I think I will stick to 7 Ubuntu seems like a million headaches waiting to happen!

Plus I wouldn't take advice from someone name "hate"
no offense (sorry eGO I'm not flaming or any of that stuff you might frown upon lord Jason for) but that's kinda a wired name to go by.

Keep it positive bro you'll live longer!

i hated win 8 new interface blows feels like i am on a windows tablet, and i use a desktop PC. win 7 still pleases me.

If it is not broken don't fix it.

Definitely stick with Windows 7 for now, 8 is too much of a hassle for day to day use.

Windows 7; any reason why you're going with the Pro version?

Windows 7... it's possible to mod Windows 8 to bring back the old start menu and disable the Metro screen, but why bother?

Linux Mint with MATE is a viable alternative.
