Did you guys know that crits are not random, but come by how much damage you do and receive? If you do alot of damage in one life, take alot of damage in one life, and get a bunch of kills, you get more crits. So that explains Kazoo's statement about her escape plan critting alot, because you take alot of damage with that weapon. This also explains why you get crits as an engineer because sentries naturally do quite a bit of damage, and as medic, because you naturally get assists as medic, and assist count towards your crit total.

WRONG.

It is random, but the chance increases the more damage you do/take or how much you heal. In my personal experience, however, my escape plan is rigged to not crit in an actual melee fight, but only when I'm swatting the air.

Don't worry, you're killing greenhouse gasses. The sound of a crit swinging through empty air is actually composed of the screams of millions of carbon dioxide and methane molecules. You're literally murdering global warming every time you take a crit swing. Feel horrified and accomplished.

But doesn't that mean I'm killing oxygen and nitrogen too? And don't the molecules just float around the pickaxe?

I'm convinced that crits aren't random at all but are carefully controlled by a complex hit detection system. When I press M1, the game scans my crosshairs, determines the trajectory and flight time of my rocket, projects these forward in time to predict if anyone might be in the path and possibly hit. If the answer is no, then the rocket is a crit.

I sat here laughing for a good 5 minutes. Thank you for making my day Idol.
