Hey!

Did you buy Farming-Simulator 2013 during the Steam Sale? Did you buy it some other time? Are you looking for people to play it with? Are you looking for people to talk about it with?

THIS IS YOUR PLACE!

I immersed myself into the world of farming over the weekend during the Steam sale. Unfortunately I have never owned a farm or ran a farming simulator so I am at a loss as to what I should be doing, as the life of a farmer is very sandbox!

I'm hoping this can be a thread for new farmers, regular farmers, and veteran farmers to discuss pointers and suggestions for this game. Sorry lane farmers, wrong genre, make your own thread.

Let me bring you up to speed on where I'm at.

So far I've harvested a field of something. I put the grain in my silo because I don't know where to take it to sell it.

I re-cultivated that field and seeded it with new crop. Beyond that, I'm fairly clueless as to what to do next. Thinking I'll take my tractor joyriding until I find a place to sell grain.

Any advice, helpful discussion, thoughts, fun observations about the game, bring them here! Multiplayer coordinations? Make them here! I'd offer to host and organize that but in truth my gaming time is quite limited. Would be happy to be hired help for someone that knows what they're doing though.

Spitfire'd for eGO Farming Simulator 2013 division. Ok, just kidding about that.
 
I'll give it a few more days, but I guess no one wants to admit they got this game?

I figured out all kinds of stuff yesterday. Took my tractor on a 30 minute joyride and learned where all the selling points are, emptied my storehouses. Bought a sprayer.

Maybe I should live stream this game!
 
Yeah never played the game but know there are mods for it... Like one where you can ride around in the general lee...

Would be nice too if you could crop dust your fields too with a plane.
 
So I guess I'm eGO's lone farmer.

Interesting suggestion Chocolate, although after seeing how much it costs just to get a potato planter and harvester one can only wonder how much a crop dusting plane would actually cost!

Guess I'll be reaping the rewards of a healthy canola harvest and sharing them with NO ONE! I mean really I'm going to use the money to plant and harvest more canola until a great need for something else emerges.

Still on the fence about live streaming the game...
 
I don't know what you're asking.

Why is this thread here? Because I wanted to see if anyone else got it - it has multi player and more importantly when I started playing it I was clueless on what to do. Was looking for quick tips and tricks to get started and I'd rather hear it from fellow eGOians than from Google.

Why does this game exist? Well why does any game exist? Why would anyone buy Farming Simulator, or Train Simulator, or Flight Simulator? Obviously there's a market for them or they wouldn't keep coming out.

Did I answer your question? Or is there another thing that I missed? Be more specific!

I feel your pain sir. I have all kinds of excitement and am drooling over TEW 2013 coming out this weekend. I am an eGO loner on this one. SO I feel your pain.

Well getting to grips with it now, just harvested my first crop and will be regrouping soon for a second bash.

nice pancake. sounds like ur crop production will increase big time now! still is funny that only 2 people play this game out of the whole community, but then again, most people arent really interested in playing a game where you have to grow crops in order to make it big.
 
This wasn't a post for you to reply in if you are not interested in it.

I would imagine you have never played it so to judge then advise on what others think of it is quite narrow minded, but everyone is entitled to their opinion when bored.
 
Huzzah another member playing! I saw someone else on my friends list playing too, only a matter of time till we have an eGO server haha!

That big tractor you bought looks nice. I bought myself a sprayer with my money. I want to get into Potato farming but that's going to be a long ways down the road...unless someone knows a "Sims Rosebud" trick lol.
 
Though its not FS2013... I used to play SimFarm back in the Win95/98 days... Best farming simulator...
 
Thought I would concentrate on the crops first Spit then have a dabble in the Spuds later, the equipment for growing and harvesting are quite expensive.

That's EXACTLY what I thought. The harvester wasn't too bad and I thought "Gee, that could be fun" but then the planter...yeah no potatoes anytime soon for me!
