Hey as many people know i dont have the best computer
70 gigs of hard disc space
win xp
1.50 gigs of ram
intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 cpu 2.60GHz 2.59GHz (Hyper thread)
256MB video card
my disc drive is burnt out

i am looking to upgrade my ram, video card and hard disc space we have a video card picked out that my brother has and its really good he can run all the call of duty's on the highest settings, saints row the third ect and its about $60 - $70 4.0 shader and vertex level , i cant find any ram for a good cheap price im looking to get 8GB to 16GB please post links in the comments for good choices for ram thanks
 
my cpu is fine and i got more in my basement
all i need to find is some ram otherwise i found everything else

This concerns me. Considering that RAM is only about $40 for 8GB, I question the rest of the rig and parts you're getting. Specifically, you failed to mention the motherboard you're using. There is no way for us to recommend old DDR memory considering they've stopped making it. You can only buy them nowadays as surplus parts, ebay, craigslist, etc. Namely second hand sellers.

You said you have more (CPU's I guess), but if they're say an old Intel Core2Duo E6300 and you're trying to plug it into your current motherboard, it won't work since the two CPU's use different sockets.

You need to provide more info so we understand what you're doing exactly. What kind of CPU's are you planning to use, what is your current power supply, motherboard, and what kind of performance are you hoping to get. FYI: Better make sure the video card you're planning to use is compatible with your motherboard, because those motherboards for the P4 still used VGA (if I remember correctly). Today, the current port is PCI-E.
