We are really fortunate to have London among us. History by first hand.

I'm actually travelling to London in few months or so. Planned to stay atleast a week. So much to see and experience there. Any hints where to go London?

I could not make any suggestions, haven,t been there in years and no plans to go back. But if you was to come to Australia I know lots of places which would be great.

Walthamstow and Hackney have changed beyond belief , you wouldn't want to see it.

Try St Paul's Cathedral, in the crypt is Admiral Lord Nelsons tomb.

Westminster Abbey and you will find Doctor Livingstone and Charles Dickens

Nuclear Cowboy , one of the most memorable sites was later in the war when watching hundreds of Allied bombers pass over head on there way to bomb Germany , the sky was black with them. Very impressive.

Met up with a older gentleman from Nurenburg or Hamburg from during the war (he was about 10 years old at the time). He said the bombers flying overhead sounded like frieght trains all around you. After hearing one B-17 land and take off, I would agree with that statement, but what do you think London?

Yes ,the noise from those engines made the ground shake like a mini earthquake. Looking back now I feel sympathy for the German people who were at the other end of the flight but as you could see the brits were at the end of the Germans flight.

Pancake, I was an ambulance driver/attendant 1961/64 until I was disabled out , Hackney was where my station was and we serviced all the East of London, Dalston, Stepney, Poplar, Islington, etc. I had 13 dead ones in that time but no baby's born in the ambulance.
