Logitech G500 vs. RAZER DeathAdder

Okay, so i'm trying to build my gaming PC, but I can't quite tell which mouse to pick. People keep telling me the g500 is great, but others tell me DeathAdder is way more reliable. So, from a gaming standpoint, which one is better?
 
I have been using a DeathAdder for months now and I love it. I have larger hands and it fits great. Great feel and response like all the Razer mice I have used. I am a user of Razer products, so I only have an opinion based on the Deathadder. Never used a Logitech mouse for gaming.
 
Between the two, I hate the Logitech G500. I'm actually using the DeathAdder now and it's a much better mouse for me. This coming from a Logitech fan (still love my old Mx518)

Edit: I owned both mice. I hate the G500 with a passion. Do not like the feel or design at all. The MX518 and the Razer DeathAdder are superior designs in my opinion.

I would go for the DeathAdder. I have been using it for years and it has never let me down.

They recently upgraded it too, it's the 2013 model.
 
In my opinion I would get the G700.. Its wireless with up to 5700 DPI. It has a rechargable Lithium battery. A USB cable comes with the mouse to recharge it, and you can still keep playing while it charges. I can get a few days at least on medium settings. Full on gaming will make it shorter.

But since you are asking of these 2 I would get the G500. I loved my old G5 and its basically the same with just a few more buttons. I know Logitech makes quality products and has lasted me for about 6 years.

The mouse you use is rather a "personal" thing. As in what do you want from it, how many buttons, quick change DPI, size (how it fits in your hand is extremely important), it's weight & feel.

Neither mouse you have asked about is a bad purchase, but you need to purchase the one that is right for you not others.
I suggest swinging by your nearest computer store or Best Buy or whatever, where you can actually put them in your hand & get a feel for them.

Otherwise you will find folks whom hate Logitiech or hate Razer (all based on usually 1 experience) and well ....

 
Logitech known keyboards and headsets, razer known mice, my opinion. Also using the Deathadder, it's great, quick response and glides easy on the mousepad.

What he said. I have only known Logitech Mice, so its something I go with, Razer doesn't seem to have a fit that I would like although I have never really held one in my hand.

Im actually backwards according to Jake. I enjoy the Razer keyboards and Logitech Mice not the other way around.
 
Both companies have their areas of expertise. Generally speaking, Razer has a better reputation for mice among serious gamers. I have never owned either of the mice you listed but I have used them both, so based on that and being an owner of products from both companies, I would side with the Death Adder.

I've actually had (have) both. I loved my DeathAdder while it lasted, but for whatever reason.... Razer mice break after less than a year for me. The one that lasted the longest is my Copperhead, which went for 2 years. And it's not like I'm swinging my mice around, almost every Razer mouse has a key issue that makes it go bad after awhile. For the DeathAdder, the left click went kaput. I did some research and a lot of people had the same issue. So I dunno, I switched the the G500 and so far, so good.

But survivability shouldn't be the only thing I judge on I suppose. Honestly, the DeathAdder glided real nice while I had it. It worked very well for me, but it was always a little light. The G500 is a very sturdy mouse, and you can adjust how heavy or light you want it to be. The only issue I've had with it is that the programmable keys have some odd other functions too, such as minimizing my windows. It only happens sometimes, so it's not a huge deal for me.

I'd go with the G500, but it's your call.
 
Storm, you might look into the Logitech Gaming Software. I was noticing that too on my G700 as far as windows minimizing and things not working how I thought they would. It was because the Default profile i was using had it set that way. With the software you can then change them how you want.
 
I've owned both mice and I would say the Deathadder is better. Also the G500 software screwed my windows sensitivities. I felt the Deathadder sensor was more precise than the G500. But they both are good mice. However I have relatively small hands so when I switched to a claw grip mouse it felt better and more natural than the mice you mentioned.

But there are far better mice than the G500 and Deathadder and I would recommend looking at a larger selection of optical mice that are also much cheaper.

I have a razer Mamba but if you are near kitchen appliances then the microwaves from a microwave will throw it off wack. I found that out. Anyways. Ill just get a replacement one soon. Along with my G930 wireless headset. ._. Again.
