How do you guys take care of your eyes when gaming? I had an eye exam today and found out my eves are very bad. The eye doctor said I should really take better care of my eyes. I want to know how you guys do this, and what I should do.

Eat lots of carrots?

Actually, staring at the computer screen for long amounts of time causes eye strain. It's best to just look away from the screen, or at least close them for a short while to give them a chance to relax. That'll help with alleviating some of the strain you're putting on your eyes. Think a few minutes every hour or so to relax those peepers.

I've been staring at a display for 35+ years for 8-15 hours a day with great vision.

Recently, however, I've started experiencing eye strain after extended periods. I've heard good things about Gunnar eyewear. I'm going to be trying a pair myself soon.

no offense, but gettin those gamer glasses wont make you see any better or make you play any better. just go to your local optical place & once you get a prescription, get yourself some glasses (typically cheaper) or if you have some extra $$ (& a lil bit a patience), get yourself some contacts. ive been wanting to get away from glasses for the last few years now & noticed how well contact technology has improved.

only thing to watch out for is not wanting to rub your eyes when the contacts are in (i did that on accident once when i tried out contacts back in the day). im also thinkin bout gettin a side pair of like bright green eyes (mainly for that extra effect).

This. Take a break and look as far into the distance as you can. It sounds dumb, but it helps a lot.

I found this program helps quite a bit.

Basically it helps dim the screen a bit, and you can control how much depending on the time. It removes a lot of the bright blue background glow. Hopefully it'll help a bit.

Make sure you're sitting the proper distance away from your monitor, too. Ideally you should be able to reach your arms fully in front of you, fingertips allllmost touching the screen.

If you ever decide to go with contacts, know that you'll want to look into the 'Toric' lenses, at least if you have a bad astigmatism, otherwise computer screens will really bug you before long.

Ok, I moved my monitor 20 inches away from me, I look at something far away every 20 minutes, and toned down my screen brightness.

When my eyes start to strain or bug me I find it best to get away from my computer. I know that is crazy and radical, but really too much of anything will strain you.

Take a break. It will be ok. Maybe you don't have to go a whole day without it as I usually do, but take some time away.

I am going blind as well. If I take my glasses off the whole world is one big blur. It scares me from time to time.
