Thats what I said. But people really hated it... Maybe its just the old guys wantin' to keep it old school. I dont blame them. Old school is pretty bad to the bone also. I just dont like the rounded look it had before. ;p

i'm one of those old school guys that likes the original art work of the site. BUT - with me spending so much time away from gaming in general the past year or so - its not all the fair for me to judge.

I like the background of the newest banner. I think it was added sometime today, because I didn't see it yesterday. I love the abstract that is used on it. Very professional and flows perfectly.

The only thing I would suggest changing is the color of the sides to make them match the lighter blue that the new banner has. Other than that, bravo to the creator.

The overall design rough but it's nothing to get pitchforks over. I only have a serious issue with the typeface, it makes our organization look extremely amateurish. It's really quite horrendous.


However

The better question if there is an impact on registration and/or participation rates. If there is nothing negative about the changes then great, I'm part of the small minority who doesn't like it (which you'll get with any change). If there is a drop in rates (as this recent change is purely aesthetics) then a revision may be necessary.
