Depending on your system you might be able to play TF2 on Linux. My system launches the game then immediately quits, but I checked tf2items.com and lo and behold I have tux.
What you will need:
Step 1) Download all files
Step 2) Install and Run Virtual Box
Step 3) Double click the Virtual Box Extension Pack. It should prompt you to install the extensions
Step 4) Use 7 zip to unzip the Ubuntu file
Step 5) Double click ubuntu-12.10-desktop-i386.vbox. It would load into VirtualBox
Step 6) Try to start the system. It will complain that VboxGuestAdditions.iso could not be found.
Step 7) Move VBoxGuestAdditions.iso to that location.
Step 8) Start the system again
Step 9) Login with password `reverse' (Whenever prompted for the admin password during installations of Steam / TF2, use this password)
Step 10) Download Steam (https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/steam/)
Step 11) Login and download TF2
Step 12) Launch TF2
I might try Screen Sharing with someone later and letting them use my setup too. I'll get back to you if this works without redownloading everything.
