First of all, I'm happy to be a member of EdgeGamers, i've been part of the community for a few mounths, but this is still one of my first posts. What i'm trying to say is, I need a bit of help getting started, understanding events, and getting comfertable with the community. This may seem like a strange topic, but i'm one of those guys who just needs to be certain about everything, so I don't end up doing something stupid :P

Hmm, well, you sound just like me.

One thing you could do is ask one of the Advisors/DL's/Council, I'm sure they will be happy to help!

Or, if you wanted help within this thread, here.

The best way to learn all of this is by trial. Attend events, stay active on the forums, and people will soon get to know you and before you know it, you'll have inside jokes with you as the butt.

Play on our servers as much as you can, but if you want to get noticed, try to help with the filling in mornings or any other time. The events are also great places to meet the community. It doesn't matter what the event is about, you'll learn along the way :D

That's just a basic answer.

Ventrilo! It's the best way to get noticed and there's a lot of cool people on there! If you have any questions, feel free to add me on steam/forums or come on ventrilo! I'm always on ventrilo! You can also contact any other leadership member! This link shows you the What's and How's within the division also who's in leadership and what they do.

well I'd say hop in vent and maybe sometime I'll use my mic for the first time

LEepicPOULET First, Thank you for being brave and posting, most people would not do that!!

I've added you to steam, and i've got someone else who is going to add you. Here in eGO we have a big brother program, though it is before the date you started i will go ahead and include you in that!! I hope to see you around on our servers!!!!

Friend me on steam if you have any questions! I love helping people. Also, ventrilo, being mature, recruiting, and having fun is the best way to get noticed an earn you G. Be on steam and don't be afraid to friend people from the clan! Get to know your leadership so you know who to contact in the event of an emergency. Also, check out this out. The awards are great milestones to strive for when being in the clan.

And really just be yourself, be active on the forums, fast fill the servers, attend events, be on ventrilo, and have a good time and be mature.

Hope I helped :)

Play as a Medic and talk to your team
Everyone appreciates a Medic on their team and a good medic will get a lot of friends who will call upon then to help in battles.

Well, from the look of things, this community looks very nice and inviting, i'm excited about my future on the servers and these forums. Thanks for the help you guys are offering, I really appreciate it :)

If you have downloaded ventrilo and have our info. You can come into the server and talk to the people in the Team Fortress 2 channels, and they will be more than happy to help.

As Honorbound said, the best way to learn is by experimenting.
We have events about 5 times a week, usually at 8pm cst. There is a little calendar on the left hand side of the forums on the front page that lists all the events for every division.
Best way to meet new people is with:
VENTRILO
(^^^you can click that word for our ventrilo information)
There is usually someone in the server in the team fortress 2 rooms. I used to shy away from vent when I first joined. I'm not sure who talked me into joining the vent server, but I'm glad they did. So many people to meet.
Feel free to post on the forums. That's what they're here for. Plenty of different discussions going on.
nav_search.gif
is the thing to use if you're looking for a specific topic. It's located at the top-right of the forums. (general rule of thumb is don't revive a thread that's older than 6 months)

I tell this story a lot, but it's true. When I first joined eGO, I was less active than your average rock, until one day, for whatever reason, I decided to hop on vent. There I met some of my greatest friends, and really got into enjoying a gaming community. It's tons of fun, and way better than hopping on random servers on random games.

eGO is a community, so the best way to get involved is simply to meet other people and to have a good time. Talk on the forums, hop into vent, or just game with us on the servers.

One last thing, ADD. A great way to get involved is to add other members on steam. You can add me right now by clicking this link: steam://friends/add/mwjhnsn but don't feel pressured too.
I am usually on during the weekends, so send me a message if I'm online and you want to play a game or just hang out. Even when I'm not online, I always leave steam running, so if you send me a message I will get it and be sure to respond. I would also recommend adding the TF2 division leader, Caelestis, and any other members of the leadership team. They are good people who really care about the division.

It was good meeting you, and I hope to see you on the servers soon!

*EDIT* Be careful adding Kazoo though, she won't stop bothering you about cats :Pbut not really
