I'll never have an unusual

[Why so serious?]

is there a perk to having purple items? or are they pretty much just for show?

It lets us know just how much better we are than the poor and Irish masses.

Don't feel bad. You'll just be a non-magical hat, bald headed loser forever.

In all seriousness though, Hats of the Unusual kind are basically place holders in the TF2 economy, just like Ear Buds are, realistically. They're extremely expensive for a little effect on your head. Not worth it. So don't feel bad about not having an Unusual. It's just like people who have a mac: they're no better than PC users even though they make themselves seem all elitist
