Im battling to keep my laptop alive and running. While I'm doing this I wont really be on since I can't get on. So I wont be on for a bit hopfully back tonight but who knows

Give your laptop a viking funeral, it knows it times is coming. ( Can you tel us some for the problems?)

Why do I always hear about people's laptops dying (It's ok, my sibling has same problem)

Mine's not dieing, but the charger for mine doesn't want to charge sometimes when it's plugged in. x.x

Usually well made laptops the only thing you'll ever have to change is the battery. My Acer is going on 5 years old, but I had screen problems mid-way but its been a tank since i got it

my desktop is going to die, i first brought it away , but now it's worst than it first was.
so now i'm complety gonna reset it

After about 3 hours of troubleshooting and trying to fix it I found that my hard drive has failed.

I will be without a computer for about 2 weeks

My HP is 2 years old and is already beginning to slow down, though that could be due to all of the garbage I've accumulated on it- programs and files and such. No viruses or anything like that so far, fortunately. But I need to take a full inventory sometime soon and pare down what I've got- it isn't a huge amount, but some of the programs I run are extremely cpu hungry, and a few have background activity that use memory even when those programs are not actually running.

That might be contributing to the slow-down as well.

The battery doesn't last as long as it did when it was new, but with a full charge it can still give me a good 3-4 hours, provided I'm not running anything demanding (like tf2 maybe? i know, it's foolish, but i do that sometimes)...

The only serious concern I have for my laptop right now is the amount of dust and debris that I am positive has been building up in my cooling fan and beneath my keyboard. I really need to get some canned air and blow that stuff out. This is what killed my old Dell laptop- broke the fan and fried some of the more delicate components. I just keep forgetting to do it.

Hey, I hope you can get your computer fixed and get back to us soon!

My laptop's been dying too! Been dying since the day I got it, don't buy a Lenovo.

At the moment, the wifi-card is fried, the screen is held together with a binder clip, the battery lasts about 45 min(I'll admit, that one's my fault), and the hard drive is making odd clicking noises from time to time. It froze on a blue screen the other day! It's slightly older than two years, and I'm just hoping it will last till this summer, so I can go back to making some money and maybe get it fixed. Sorry, did I say fixed? I meant replaced, because I don't think it's worth the effort to fix it.

Luckily my computer isn't dying, but I am doing maintenance on it today. Gotta keep this thing healthy and happy.

Lots of peoples computers are going this month, like Shiznoe said. Wow. I've never had a computer actually go on me, just get really slow and annoy me to death. Hope you get back with us soon!

Yes, hopefully it'll work again soon. We'll be here when you return with a full functional computer!

Closing this thread as it has been more than 24 hours.
