I was out around town today with some family. I enjoyed myself till some things. I heard some more about the recent tragedy facing the US, and I saw a girl cussing her father out. It really put me down if you know what I mean. All of sudden, a lot of negative emotions. To make it worse, I was/am still down due to some personal events dealing with a stroke, sleeping in an uncomfortable hospital bed, and eating really bad hospital food.
I went home and jumped on to Team Fortress 2, and played some on our Harvest server. There was a guy cussing, and I followed the normal thing of warning and then kicking. After that I went to the event server for an event with the TF2 division (a fun event). While we were playing, a question that had been bothering me came to me. It was the question ?What does eGO mean to me and what made me join it??. Unlike times in the past, I now have an answer for it.
I thought I joined eGO to talk to people and go to some fun events. I was wrong. I joined eGO, because I believe in what eGO stands for. Sounds kinda of cheesy, but I do. I believe eGO stands for a place where people can come, have fun, and just relax. Despite our differences of thought, we still believe in those 14 rules of conduct. With all of the negativity(language, remarks, dis-respect, and many other things) we gamers face, we decided to make a gaming environment that moved away from the negatives. It allows us to kick back and relax from the every-day issues we all face.
We (those in eGO) may have different genders, race, religion, political leanings, but we all share the belief that we want a place of rest and peace to relax and take a break from all of the issues that we must see and confront on a daily basis. This single belief is what makes us the greatest community for gamers. I have meet some great people in eGO. Even to those who I don't talk to much (unfortunately) , don't want to talk to, and to those I have yet to meet, I say 'hello, my friend'. I call you all my friends due to all of us sharing that same belief.
