Gah! I need people to play with!

Summer started, so for the passed three days I have been playing dota 2 hardcore! But I never see anyone on? I am sure I added everyone when there use to be events, why is no one on?

I would prefer if you have a mic, but if you don't that's fine. I am just tired of pubs being... well pubs... snotty disrespectful spiteful little monsters. I can't take it!

Nobody has had the time to step up and host events, basically. Without events all we have is disparate groups of people pubbing and little to no forum usage.

I'll keep an eye out for ya in game though, and hopefully at some point we can get some events going again to promote some involvement around here!

What happened to Ayako and Sama? Did something happen to them both? I heard about laughstocks incident (though he arrived after I left).

This is a real shame, if we can find enough people to participate, we most definitely should do this.

EDIT: Oh, whatever happened to Rhain and Zhain? (I think that's how you spell it...)

We're still here. The Dota Division has been put on hiatus until the game goes live. I'd still be willing to play with you, though. Plus, whenever we hosted events, we didn't get enough participation to make the event worthwhile.

Speaking for myself, I just wasn't into the types of events being put on before (All Mid, Saxton Hale, CTF, WTF, etc). With the possible exception of All-Mid, the game just doesn't support those modes in a fun and balanced manner.

Perhaps when people are more familiar with the game overall it would make sense, but for people new to the game (which comprises a majority of this division I'd wager) it's difficult enough actually learning to play without throwing the silly bits into the mix.

I think the Meet & Greet, Training Night, and basic 5v5 events could build and maintain a decent attendance that could then lead into the other types of game modes down the road.

Additionally, waiting until the game is "released" could likely push this hiatus into 2014. With the extreme abundance of keys out there these days anyone who wants to play already is. I think we can start small (the aforementioned simpler events) in that interim so as to really foster a proper Dota 2 community within eGO.

Weren't the devs saying that it would be released May 2013? I was confused to find it still in "beta". I think they are just waiting to release all the heroes and make them balanced before releasing it...

Rhaen and Zhaen have been LoL babies recently. I pretty much only play in 5 man stacks with Tasty and Funnelcakes.

I also rarely check the forums anymore. Only game I care about is Dota 2 and this section isn;t real active so I am always just on reddit.
