Wind's Razer/Nvidia Sponsee Monthly Give-Away (Razer Tartarus x2)

First I'd like to start by saying I'll be giving away two Razer Tartarus Gaming keypads. If you'd like to read my story below on sponsorship with Razer and Nvidia and how I ended up falling in love with a promotional version of the tartarus after ignoring gaming keypads for just about 10 years now - then please do!! I apologize for it's length.

- I'd like to let the higher ups decide how they would be distributed - but I'd like one to go towards our FPS section (a member in the section) while the other towards RTS/MOBA (DOTA 2. SC2 etc). I hope that sounds alright; any suggestions please just edit in.

Prior to the long (to some boring) story I'll show off some photos!

Razer kindly sent me their newest product 3 days before the street date - so I'd be able to play Counter-Strike Global Offensive in a New York based LAN - and play competitive DOTA 2 while getting a grasp and reviewing the product - I was told by Public Relations Agent Gordon that despite me having a Razer Deathstalker Ultimate Keyboard (LED Touchscreen; near 300 dollars - not exactly LAN friendly)

He convinced me to try a little something else...

I had always been against Gaming Keypads since the initial design company (I actually forget the name; my buddy had one for CS 1.6) began to release them - I did not see the point - then Logitech began to produce them once the prior mentioned innovative company that designed them went out of business and was quickly acquired by Razer - This is where the Nostromos', and Orbweavers came from and became common sights at professional e-sport tournaments around the USA. I still brought all of my heavier Razer Products - Sure these lan centers have a base keyboard you can use; but who wants to use a keyboard that lord only knows the shape it could be in - Thus I figured the guys bringing in these Nostromo's and Orbweavers must have found it easier as a carry on during the flight -laughs-

I began to talk to a few well known gamer's about the gaming keypads - I was told by Grant (rtz aka Eminjem), TC from team Liquid, and bdiz from dignitas that once I tried a gaming keypad... I wouldn't be able to game without one.
- After mentioning it to my buddies in the FPS genre rather than the RTS genre (Valdez, Strychzilla, Pharoh, Evil-Doer, Nailzor, Fatal1ty) - the general consensus was 5 of those guys swore by it; while one that I shall not say who; could not give his honest opinion on the product due to conflicting contracts.

it took me about 2 hours - and then I had fallen in love.

Thus - as part of Team Razer (Along with endorsing Nvidia 3D Vision and the Nvidia Shield; moved onto endorsing Lightboost tech once Nvidia gave that the A-OK to be used outside of 3D on 144hz monitors.) I receive items early to let them know if it benefits me as a player - with Razer honestly I have not gotten anything short of stellar; from at least two mouses a year; currently using the Razer Deathadder 2013, with the suggestion to use a "Small" Razerhard pad Control Edition rather than speed with an amazing cloth Razer Kabuto surface on top (The 2013 Deathadder is able to read the fabric of the Kabuto and pick up parts of the Hard Razer pad below; I prefer control surfaces). to my preference of using Razer Blacksharks (the Jet Pilot Design really stuck with it) - then being able to ignore having a second monitor after picking up my 144hz asus 1ms 24 inch; replacing my 120hz 2ms 23.5 inch monitor - I was going to keep it as a second monitor (but decided to get two more 144hz for Stereoscopic 3D by Nvidia at its best) - Thus being sent a Razer Deathstalker Ultimate "Elite Gaming Keyboard" with LED Touchscreen (anything from watching Movies, internet, twitter etc; along with great CS 1.6/Source/GO - BF3, TF2, LoL (and a DOTA 2 app being worked on which I am stress testing) I saw no reason for a second monitor.

(to clarify I put the request in for two more 144hz monitors to get a "true Nvidia 2.0 experience" and the request was granted - usually it is for "Gaming Needs" - as an endorser of 3D Vision Nvidia allowed this and I should be sent two more in the next few weeks)

So with all of this awesome stuff - and actually rather wonderful feeling Chiclet Keys on the Razer Deathstalker Ultimate - Why the heck would I want a Gaming Keyboard?!?!

I received a phone call "You get to test and review our newest Gaming Keypad - with a new design maximum playtime comfort; improved analogue (binding/macro) stick with 8 directional binds; 25 Programmable Mechanical keys and hundreds of possible options due to the 8 different profiles switchable on the fly.

Here's a thing to hopefully increase my odds of getting one*:
I'm in the Battlefield division but I play just about every genre of games. I had a Razer Nostromo and I LOVED it. I eventually sold it to a friend of mine, but that's a long story. It took me months to get used to not using a gamepad anymore; so the Tartarus would be an amazing weapon to have in my arsenal! It would undoubtedly increase my effectiveness in-game via it's insane macro-ness(?), which would in turn help me make eGO look better. It's always nice when I see that =[e]= at the top of the leaderboards. Plus, moar LED's = moar AWESOME.

This is a seriously awesome thing to be doing! It's also really cool that you got those sponsorships - that must have been difficult. So you just test out Razer/Nvidia products and get free stuff?? Awesome.

*This sentence sucks. I'm tired. Jeez.

Anyhowdys, recently joined the CS Division but i also often play LoL which is quite similar to DOTA2.

I would love something gaming type keypad (as ive never had a gaming type thing, should be great)

all in all; I would love to have this benefit those with the upcoming first person shooters; - while also having a second towards those whom are sticking back in different genre's - I will call Public Relations to see if I can give away three of them - I'd feel more comfortable.

Perhaps despite the awesome stories which makes it really tough, especially by the end of the month to decide - some sort of random drawing will occur.


- I know Video Cards (700 series), Keyboards, Mice, Surfaces, Nvidia 3D Vision 2.0, Headsets will all be given away at different times.

Holiday season will most likely be the time to see the Video cards; so if someone does not get something... I may not be able to supply everyone - but a lot of people will get Wind's Love!

If we can get Edge sponsored then all of us would have gear and jerseys .

- I started my sponsorship back in late 99 or early 2000 with Quake 3 - and it got bigger and bigger over the years. I remember playing Quake 3 and saying "i want to be the best"
I may not have been the best; but I played against world champions (from John Wendel, to more recently Cypher and Cooler in quake live...) We tied against NiP in CS GO in Face-it.com with my old clan's team... Lots of great moments I've had that WE will have here at eGO.

Welcome to Edgegamers! And specifically to the BF division. We are a fun bunch! I would definitely like to enter. I have been in EGO for a couple years and in other gaming clans/units for a number of years before that (mostly DoD:Source). I have been looking at gamepads for a long time but just could not bring myself to spend the money lol. A random drawning would be cool.

I am going to make this an official edge gamers give-away by having the items shipped (every month, whichever items) to whomever from the clan is responsible for give-away contests - while ensuring it adds that it is "From eGO Wind Nvidia 3D on behalf of Razer - or Nvidia - or Asus if its a monitor."

This was discussed via PM - it makes everything more official and ensures that everything received are brand new and in the box; as I can understand some people may be skeptics as to why I am doing this - or if it is "legit"

I'd like Edge Gamers to become a premier e-sports name in every game we play - from casual players to the most "hardcore" to be seen in the public gamer's eyes as equals - Razer and Nvidia sponsorship can really aid with this.
I mean no negativity as I heard of eGO three of four years ago - it wasn't until I quit my clan of NEARLY 8 years (out of the 11 they've been around) due to balance and change of power.

I am lucky I had friends who are clan members; and I am fortunate to be welcomed here with open arms - thus I want to give back as I was fortunate to get where I am in the world of gaming (despite "working for it" or "winning tournaments" *I've lost FAR MORE Than I've won* - basically; any one here could have been given the deal I got, I was at the right place at the right time during a time in PC gaming when companies literally would scout players - now you either need inside sponsee's to vouch for you and still go into a very long process of seeing if it is economically beneficially for the company to sponsor; or you need to explode on the scene of a very popular game - most likely in a world championship for that game; even if you are a 32nd seed.

Honestly, you should put up a survey using Google. It should outline whether the tend to use it for FPS or MOBA games, etc. Then, split that up into two spreadsheets on Google docs, and use a random number generator to pick one in each. However, Artimus already replied, and I hope I win when he starts up the giveaway.
