Evening Edge Gamers. Lately I have found myself looking for a new job and having trouble putting together a good resume. I have a lot of skills and education; however if you don't have a good template, no one will want to read it. Does anyone have any good template they can toss me to work with? Please send any template you may have found or made and post them here with a link or send the file to [email protected]

I'd say it's important to mention whether you graduated or got a GED, especially if you graduated. Personally I think both are great and show a dedication to finishing your education, but prospective employers don't always think that way and may lean towards one more than the other. Otherwise I agree.

Keep it brief and professional, no more than 1 page (unless extensive graduation or work history demands more pages).

Also keep skills relevant to the job you are applying for. No business needs to know that you ranked 2nd in your 3rd grade spelling bee, even if it is a really flashy ribbon.

Nah, from what I've learned in a class recently, mentioning high school is unnecessary cause I mean, you're in a 4 year university, point is that you're in college at all.

First you need to decide who your target is, who you're trying to talk to who you're preaching to.
Then you need to pick the basic type of resume you're writing, and this depends on your experiences, your education, certifications, ect. I would suggest chronological.

Then you fill it up, after you put in your education, then your work experience, I would add in any certifications you have at the bottom.
I would write on the footer that all your references are available upon request, and make sure that you have the references on a list if/when you go for an interview. (with emails, numbers, company name)

the layout of your education and work experience should include start date, and end date, certifications should include the year you obtained them.

Your name should be LARGE on each page!

one more thing, you need a cover letter, and that's where you can work magic, make sure that it starts interesting, you have about 20 seconds to save yourself from the "no" pile.
