Not getting the Team Fortress 2 Halloween update

The title of the thread says it all. I asked around and it sounds like others have heard reports of this too. Anyone have any suggestions or solutions? Tried restarting Steam already. Might try restarting my computer. :facewall:

After going away for a while and playing Killing Floor, the update automatically installed when I exited Killing Floor. Don't ask questions. :huh:

Yes. Steam's servers are pretty flooded and this year especially so because they're on time*. My Steam shut down not too long ago and it won't reconnect.

Just sit tight and it'll come back.

Yeah I noticed after a while both TF2 and Killing Floor wanted to update after I was having issues trying to join Killing Floor servers. :confused1:

Another thing: if you're having problems, verify your cache. From what I've heard, it should kickstart the download.

Another thing: if you're having problems, verify your cache. From what I've heard, it should kickstart the download.

Almost certain I tried that one, and got no results.

For those of us still crashing, there was a post in r/tf2 that said that if you switch your model quality to high it stops the crashes. Not sure if this is true, I have never had problems with crashing (thank the dark gods) but might be worth a shot.

But I kept trying!

Actually my crashing stopped after I changed my settings to the recommended settings. Not sure if coincidence or if that did the trick.

Ok, I'll try that when I get home today. I think my settings are already on high though I don't last 3 minutes on helltower, it sucks!

Danzug, check if the models are set to high (or at least not low or medium). I would play around with the settings.
