Unknown Item Bug TF2

With the most recent Halloween update, all of my items now say "Unknown Item" and all items that are found in-server also say "Unknown Item."

Is anyone else dealing with this? I've replaced my tf_english file and exhausted most of my options to exclude re installing.

Hmm, I've heard of this bug before, but I've never experienced it before. It could be the servers are being overwhelmed and some corrupt packets were sent out (just a theory).

This post from the steam forums states that he installed a mod and received this sort of problem. Have you installed any mods lately, or is it vanilla TF2? (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2489660)

Someone suggested deleting your resource files and any scripts you've installed in the TF2 folder.

Just delete your scripts and I believe resources folder.
It has something to do with your custom skins/HUD I've had this exact problem before you do NOT need to reinstall tf2!

I added a HUD a couple of days ago before the update, the update broke it so I removed it. Now I am vanilla again and I am still without a paddle.

Hmm, well all I can say is have a look at these posts. If anything they recommend doesn't work, best bet would be to delete TF2. Before that, you should try verifying it again.

No problem, if you get it fixed reply to the forum on how to do it. It may help other in the future with this problem
