Sup. How y'all doin?
So like.... I preordered Battlefield 4 for PC and snagged it on release night, along with premium edition and all the works. When I put the CD in my system, it opened Origin and downloaded the game from the internet normally. It prompted me to install the AMD 13.9 Drivers for my video card, which I did (I uninstalled the other drivers first). What happened though; BF4 sucked. Everything ran horribly, then my 2 month old PC bluescreened. So I started it back up and went over to Battlefield 3 and everything ran horribly too. So did Crysis 2 and even some Source games. I was getting around 5-10 FPS, sound was way off in all games (I typically wear headphones, but even if I play audio through my monitor's speakers via HDMI it's off), and everything just... nothing was right.
My previous driver version was the 13.5 driver, which was the first and only driver I ever had installed on that PC. I uninstalled the 13.9 driver and went back to the 13.5 driver, and everything still ran horribly.
I saw AMD released a new video card driver on the 7th, so I decided to download it (version 13.11) and while my Source games run better, and BF3 runs smoothly around 65 FPS (as normal), they start to lag and crap out on me 10-15 minutes into the game.
I'm not sure what the problem is. I monitored my GPU's temperature, and it never exceeds 50 degrees Celsius when I'm playing a game, and is usually below 30 degrees Celsius (22-25) when idling. Nothing has ever been overclocked/underclocked.
My rig:
Intel i7-4770k @ 3.5GHz (stock clock)
Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 Ghz OC Edition 2GB
8GB Ripjaws DDR3-1600 Memory
ASRock Fatal1ty H87 Motherboard (I know, I know, super cheapskate like. I couldn't afford a beefy board at the time).
750 Watt Power Supply (unsure of brand).
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
It's a nice PC, and before I ever downloaded Battlefield 4, everything ran fine. Which draws me to another question; why did BF4 come with 3 CDs, when I only needed the first one? I didn't even have to download from the CD, it downloaded from the internet via Origin! One would think since I'm a computer/tablet/gaming supplies salesman, I'd know my way around this stuff.

. I didn't uninstall the beta, no. I did completely wipe my system, and I reinstalled BF3 and downloaded the 13.9 final release drivers (the not-beta ones lol). Counter Strike runs smoothly as expected, but I can't get the Battlelog plugin going. Will update both of ya! :3
