Antivirus sale

So Newegg has a sale going on 1 user antivirus software programs of different kinds. Kaspersky & Panda are on the list. Based on my experience, I definitely wont be using Eset in the future since it takes up way too much memory. Also Kaspersky is being rated as the 2nd best antivirus software (overall).

Your thoughts/suggestions?

If you have problems with ESET using memory I would recommend Norton--very lightweight.

Norton interferes almost with everything. It's a very very stubborn AVS and has a lot of false positives in general.

Not saying it's a bad AVS, just an obsessive AVS.

Personally out of that list I'd go with AVG.

Norton is a pain and it isn't light weight it takes massive resources and is slow.

I agree with Ric. Our laptops run AVG and it works wonders.

I've used Norton a few times and always had issues going to gaming websites like eGO because it would detect crazy false positives.

But, that's my personal opinion.

Ya Norton was the very 1st avs that I used and then it was McAfee. An ex friend told me bout Trend Micro found stuff that McAfee couldnt find. Ever since then, ive been searching for a better avs that will do better than its predecessor.

Personally, I stick with Avast's free anti-virus. If I were going to go with something off of the list on Newegg I would go with Kaspersky or Avira. Probably Kaspersky.

Odd, I'm running Northon 360 on my PC, never had any issues with it. Brother however is using freeware antivirus Avast, and every time I get on EdgeGamers website it reports the ads as dangerous malware sites...

I just upgraded from Norton AV 2013(1 PC) to Norton 360(3 PCs) & I don't have problems with Norton being a resource hog plus the sites I go on never catch any bugs but I also have Spybot Search & Destroy running.

Recent versions of Norton are a vast improvement. I would agree with your Norton qualms if talking about a pre-2010/2011 version, but since then their products have been very good.

I would personally say that I've paid full price for Kaspersky for a number of years and love it. I have run across maybe two or three issues where the program blocked things I wanted to do. Kaspersky blocks the login server for Rift LOL!. So when I want to play Rift I have to pause Kaspersky for 1 min so I can hit the login button. There was also something else recently that Kaspersky blocked me from using that was perfectly safe. I don't remember what it was. Other than that, I will always renew my license with Kaspersky. I love it!
