rotation = Anzio, flash, Colmar 20 to 30 mins each FTW. I fear that strand would kill the rotation server.

If we got the rotational server, there is a way for the people to vote on which map is next right? Give them 4-5 options (ONe of those being the 'Extend current map option') That way we dont have that issue of "Oh jesus 80% of us hate this map we're all leaving." it'd really be "Oh well the majority of us voted for this map and we'll stay, and te server will stay mostly populated." I think the server should just be stock maps to start off with, Avalanche, Donner, and Kalt should be apart of the vote.
However, I will be voting for Flash every time I have the option.

Also for anyone who thinks of trying the "Our rotational servers have never worked" argument; Ive been in eGO for five years, and Ive never seen a *true* rotation server. We've had one that switched between Colmar and some other map, but Im pretty sure that was just a testing phase to see which map would get picked (It was Colmar. IT lasted like a month)

I'm going with rotation but I think it should be 30 minutes minimum on each map or different times for different maps depending on size. If a server empties out due to a map change it could take 10 to fill and then 10 to play before another change? That would get annoying.

I won't mention the other servers that I play on (gasp!) but I like to play the other maps that they have... Here are the ones that I would like to see in rotation:

• Palermo
• Colmar
• Jagd
• Argentan (my least fav)
• Anzio (for you anzio fans)
• Maybe a few custom maps...

I'm not sure if the bomb-the-objective maps are popular, but I like them Also, I would like to consider turning on FF. Makes the game more strategic.

I think that a vote server would be pretty swell. I'd add in the most popular custom maps, and the most popular non-beachhead default maps, and let people nominate and vote for the next map.

About 1 1/2 year ago strand was our second most popular server out of the five. When I joined this division it was the only map I really played on, with the other regular strand players like lupus and dbad. We worked hard to get the server up in to the top 20. So what happend? It went in to a decline after we had to change the IP and lost the following we had on the server. Since then it has been alot of trouble getting the server started. Nobody wants to play on the server anymore. It isn't very easy to fill a server when the average comment from the people in the community is "ewww... strand".

I will be sad to see the server go but I can't see it going back to the hay day if we don't have people who want to play on it within the community.

So that leaves us Anzio or a Rotation server. Anzio is only being kept up because there are people in eGO who will help fill it. I think that this will not do in the long run. We need a server that has backing from both the community and the pubs, so going for a rotation server is the only option I can see that could work for us in the long run.

I think a rotation server would be great. We can always add both anzio and strand to the list of maps in the rotation to keep some people sorta happy. And still bring in some older classic maps. Like Flash, Palmero. along with others.

This isn't one of the options but I think we should keep anzio, drop strand and get a rotation server. I'm not sure why we have to be masochistic and make a difficult choice if we can make an easier one

Why would we add a map that is empty all the time to the rotation? Strand will empty the rotation server every time...Anzio will work in the rotation but Strand will kill the server as soon as people see the map.

I agree with this decision. Why not just replace strand for a rotation and keep Anzio for the time being, if the rotation server does better then put Anzio into rotation on the other server and remove the Anzio server. This is a more careful decision that is not as rushed. If, however, nobody plays rotation then the Anzio server is still there without it being removed.

I feel most people will want a rotation server as it's different, but I personally would like to keep Anzio. It's my favorite map on DoD and its rankings have began rising in recent weeks (or months).

I have to sadly admit that DODS is slowly dying, it is coming up to being 14 years old and thats a long time for a game, what we need is a real update or a new DOD. But what chances is there for that. I live in hope.

When I first started playing in ego back in 2009 I played on Charlie/Strand, It was the only server I liked at the time and it was alive too. As much as I would hate to see it go its a dead server and I don't see it coming out of the ashes. Anzio is only alive because lots of e's G's and O's play on there at one time for a hour or two and then after that it's as dead as strand. Both servers can't get a suitable population to actually have a solid game and lets face it nothing pisses people off more than a 4v4 on strand and two of the Germans are using mg's and the other using the sniper and the Americans can't even walk ten feet before they die its just not fun. The rotational server could be promising something new for the die hard ego Dod:s players who want something new. Personally I would like it as well getting in some of the other maps i only get to play on in a event or realism every once in a while.

I think a rotation server is worth the try especially if Anzio and Strand will be a part of the rotation. If the rotation wins it would be great to see stock maps and custom maps together.

My vote goes for Anzio though. Only one that appeases me the most of the list.
