For those of you that don't know me, I love esports. Obviously cs is my favorite as I am the captain of the scrim team over in the cs division but I've taken a liking in DOD for some reason. Is there any way to get better (death-matching, aim maps, cross-hair tips, etc) or is it something that I just need to play a lot? I'm pretty good at rifle but the models move a lot faster than I'm used to.

Thanks!

Could maybe try left4dods server for aiming practice and recoil control. Honestly, the thing I can say is it just takes time and patience. Hope to see you on the servers soon!

Use the assault class, youll be gold in no time.

Watch frag videos of DoDS which shows great players.

As far as weapons go it depends on what weapon you're using, sniper don't rush and learn to noscope (try filling anzio or whatever new server we get and when there's only a few eGO members offer to do noscope only), rifle you need to practice strafing, support you need to learn to jump around corners, control recoil, find a comfy sensitivity, and know how to flank.

When I started playing DoDS again 1.5 years ago a friend retaught me just about every weapon and all the aspects of the game and we did 1v1 which helped a ton, from there on just practice against great players.

I use 1.5 sens with 800 dpi, so I'm set for sens. Thanks for the pointers!

I can help you out. Want me to teach you how to play cs while I'm at it? :p

Another thing to note is, don't always come into the server hoping you'll do as good earlier. Fixing your rates is a must, but since you scrim on CS I'm pretty sure you won't have problems with that. Every now and then you might have reg issues, it's just one of those DOD:S things. I actually play with 1.15 sensitivity, lowered from 1.25, with 1600 DPI.

Use the rifle only with low mouse sens. Up your DPI if you can. Download a good config file. Have someone teach you how to quick stop from a strafe. Biggest thing to remember, YOU CANT SHOOT ACCURATELY WHILE MOVING.

I find support easy to learn, you get two grenades to use.

DoDs is oddly the game i don't care if I do well or not in and I can enjoy it.

Follow Bergen around the map...

And do the exact opposite of what he does:p No really, get in vent with us and we will give you tips on the fly. Examples, how to prime rifle nades, how to control recoil, useful key binds, etc.

Great advice.

You'd have to play a lot and it fun!!

Sniper: go to strand and play as allies/germans. That map has great areas for sniper action.
Assault/Support: most maps are good for that. Hide around corner and spray like don't care when the time comes (you can jump to, but that can be a bit annoying)
Rocket: Donner, and Go to the field or the tank house. Then let the beautiful rockets fly.
Machine gunner: I'd say go to Avalanche. With the odd terrain, it will take some skills to know where to set up properly, and when to relocate if needed. Also Nades will become the bane of you existance if you don't relocate as often.

I think that's all :)

Haha, nice redirect on that one wewo :P

p.s.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned map knowledge.

Definitely a huge plus is map knowledge. Learn your maps. Each map has certain routes people frequent and tendencies, choke points or bottlenecks, etc.

Also learn your angles. Some shots are better off at certain angles and how you react with your reflexes.

When moving through rooms or doorways, pie the corner. Try to make a 180 degree sweep of a room when moving, most likely, there is someone waiting for you right on the other side of the door/wall.

Keep your silhouette low. When shooting out of a window or doorway, don't stand right up to the window or the doorway. Try to stay as concealed as possible and where possible, shoot from positions where it benefits you and puts your enemy at a disadvantage in terms of locating your position.

And there you go... some of my advice which at times seems to be underrated.

well i would say start playing support class best and only class whole game ;)

Read through all of this... Time to start playing some DoD:S this winter break!
