Which graphics card to upgrade to for a 2600k? (Currently a 580GTX)

I've had this PC since June 2011. I've only upgraded a broken SSD and added 8GBs of ram to come to a total of 16GBs of ram. And added some hard-drives so far.

Normally around this time (2,5 years) I would go looking to buy a new PC, but since I'm starting my own business and having to save money for the start-up of the business, I won't have the ?1500-?2000 for a whole new system.

Instead I'm opting for an upgrade of the GPU. Also since I play PlanetSide 2 and it has this in-game FPS counter which tells you your bottle-neck, which in my case was my GPU.

I'm looking for a GPU that fits with my CPU and closes in on any bottle-neck that there currently is. I'm not looking for a GPU that outperforms my CPU, because if my business takes off, I will be able to buy a new PC in two years and I'll probably get a GPU that's current at that time (the GPU I'm buying now will probably not move to my next system).

I use the PC for Gaming, Recording (Dxtory), Steaming (Dxtory) and editing.

Any suggestions or pieces of advice are welcome!

I would say, depending upon your price range (& the fact that you wish to stay with nVidia), then go with either the 660 or 670. Depending upon which manufacturer of the card that you have right now, you can either stick with them or go with another company that is higher recommended. we are talking euros well i mean u can always look for a gtx 760 since in euros itll be about 150-175 euros
will run everything in the modern day and i mean for the future u can always just upgrade ur case board and cpu and u wont need to spend 2000 euros on it max 700 depending on time of year

I was going to suggest the GTX 760 myself. That's what I'm getting in my new gaming rig. It's a beast, but it's somewhat affordable.

To be honest, I'm in a bit of the same quandary as I too have a 580. Getting back into Battlefield and BF4 is a pretty big graphics whore.

But once in a while I play Planetside2 cranked with no issues whatsoever. And I have an AMD CPU, so I fully understand bottlenecks. I tend to question whether it is really the GPU that is giving you problems. The 580 is a happy little beast for most games and Planetside uses an older graphics engine.
