Please read the following carefully.
BC2 Heavy Metal will soon be moving! ?Oh?! What do I need to do?"
The idea is to make as many people aware as possible, the current HM server name will change to "=(eGO)= Heavy Metal Is Moving Look For NEW Heavy Metal". In the server ticker will be a note of the new server name ?=(eGO)= NEW 24/7 Heavy Metal | Fast Respawn | 500tkt? scrolling in a fairly frequent manner. Heavy Metal will be on the Conquest Rotation box.
Please, while on the server, ONE of us / you, place in your general chat that this server is moving and encourage the regulars and other members to find the new address in the server list and favorite it. This can be done ONCE PER ROUND, maybe as the round starts. Keep in mind DO NOT have 3-4 admins type it in at once, multiple times over. It will be in the server ticker and is also in the server name that the server is moving, encouraging the inquisitive mind to find out more. Our dedicated pubbers may ask when they come in, ?Hey the server name is HM Moving?! What?s up?? Answer accordingly. Point them in the right direction.
Please, please, please DO NOT use the yell command for this. It does not need to become a spammed, overbearing notifier; if you feel like you need to use admin commands, use say.
Make an effort to pass it among our members that may not frequent Ventrilo as soon as you see them.

As many of us know, the current HM box has endured inconsistent ( dare I say incontinence? tee hee hee ) performance issues: random crashes, latency, slipping on banana peels, etc. Moving to the box the Conquest Rotation is on will offer additional back-end tools to help mitigate this and those servers have a bit better track record of stability ( outside of EA issues that arise beyond our control ). Note this is not a silver bullet, however. Ain?t nothin? perfect.

When you see the current Heavy Metal server name changed in your BC2 server list containing ?=(eGO)= Heavy Metal Is Moving!!?, it has started.
?Will I still be able to connect to the ?old? HM server??
Yes, but the intent is to move away from that one as the primary to the ?new primary?.
?What will be done with the 'old' HM server??
It will become BC2?s Conquest Rotation / Event server.
?Where is the server based??
Dallas, just as the current one is, but hosted by a different vendor.
