No sky in dod_santos_b3

Not sure if this has been reported before ... but I get a nice purple and black checkerboard for a sky in dod_santos_b3. Any idea on how to fix this?

On a side note, we lost a lot of players when the server changed from dod_harrington to santos. Just a little observation.

The version of Santos that I see on most servers is the b2 version, not b3, with the only major difference being the lack of the set of stairs leading from the water to the axis hotel.

I have no sky either :/ . I kinda just leave when that map is voted on.

It's fixable.
I heared someone saying that you need to verify your game files or something like it.

When I first joined that map I got the checker board effect but when I reloaded the map it changed to a sky!!! I am not sure if this will fix your problem but it did for me!

Pretty sure it's the map as I've had issues with santos since the dawn of time.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing.

a while back, it was also purple and black checkerboard. I tried everything anyone suggested, and nothing worked. from validating my files, to deleting the map from my directory, to lowering video settings... nothing. I dont have a problem with it now that I have a new graphics card. However that is an expensive fix for one map.

You may have to do what I did... suck it up and count the minutes til the map changes

I have had this issue on Santos a few times. All I did to fix it was delete the map from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod\maps" But I only have stock maps there now. Maybe I'm thinking 1.3....
