Recoil can be tricky. You will hear a few different responses, from burst fire, (recommended) to aiming at the crotch area and let the recoil raise you to center mass.
I bought a good mouse (Razer Death Adder 2013) I set the DPI as high as it will go (6400) and lowered the in game sensitivity to next to nothing. that way, its not too jumpy running around and looking around, but its there when you need it... for example, when you have to spin around quickly, or... recoil! I just draw my mouse down slightly and it stays in a pretty tight group.
Burst fire.. 3 or 4 shot bursts, will probably be your best bet.

When going around corners crouch before you shoot, and while you are walking around have your crosshair be over where the enemies' head could be at any given moment. You'll get better at it slowly, I have my mouse sensitivity as high as it can go.

Use an mp40 assault very little recoil
This and the Thompson are good starter weapons. Crouching/prone also reduces quite a bit of recoil, but its very easy to hit a stationary target. So only do this in a good hiding spot waiting for people to run by.
I'm old so I have lots of tricks that help me get kills and be able to compete against 15 year old reflexes. Hit me up sometime and I'll show you what I know. A good deal of it though is getting used to your settings and just getting killed a bunch. You'll get better.
