Let me get something straight, right off the bat: I love eGO. You guys are super entertaining, and I appreciate the work ethic (if it can even be called that) of each and every one of you. That being said, I'm sure we've all run into people who just completely write off our community.

Being in a smug mood, I would like to hear instances in which you completely pwned the said naysayer.
___________

I realized I wanted to hear this when I was playing CSGO Competitive Inferno and two jerks kept badmouthing eGO over the mic during warm-up. They continued over chat for the entirety of the match, until the very last round. My team was ahead 15-14 on T side, and I managed to pull off a 5-frag and clinch the win - soaring to the top of the scoreboard. I believe the last thing I said over mic to them was: "Try beating me at a game that I'm not even in the division for before you talk <expletive> about eGO. Thanks."

Anyone else got any cool stories?

I hand out free cake to such naysayers.

I was in csgo the other day on a non ego server with tags. someone said oh I didnt know ego play csgo I left before any further comments could be made since it sounded snarky. I ended up unistalling the game though and i tried playing in our server but since I cant play it to save a life and will stick to the source varaint of it. As far as TF2 I joined one of the Lotus servers and people were like oh its an EGO blank blank blank. my ping was 5 to the server so I just turned off the voice sound and had my fun.

Also known as rockets?

Yeah, I usually just mute them, too. And to be honest, a lot of CS:GO players are snarky XD

Forget what server but this was back when Foundry first came out. I was still a bit new to EGO so I would move around to different servers still. Someone on my team recognized the tag but in a more positive light. Mainly complementing me on my engineering skills (always had a teleporter set up) and he said he expected nothing less from a member of EGO.

This one time I was asked to join a server and admin by a guy I didn't know and who wasn't in eGO. Only problem? I was in Taiwan with sketchy internet.

Didn't matter, I banned 3 people and got a recruit.

Was in a random mvm , my first mann up mission and i was playing demo. I had already confessed to it being my first time in mann up, but they said your an EGO member you should do fine. We went on to beat that mission with no wave failures (manhattan.)

Moral of the story: Don't play with your tags on

Lies - I've gotten grief for having eGO tags occasionally on Skial's Turbine server, and mostly it's people who have heard second-hand from people that got cake. I'm not ashamed to be with the be with the most awesome group of gamers.

Play with tags, be proud of who we are.

I play everywhere with my tags on. I'm not afraid of harassment. And if you're being a bag of tools with tags on other servers, should you be wearing the tags at all?

I've always said our servers seem to have a been better in skill. Not tooting my own horn, but if I play on our servers I do okay, but if I go pub somewhere else, a good majority of the time I wreck the other team because I'm using to playing against people with a little more skill. This is why I love our servers. It's a challenge.

This. We attract regulars because of the pure vanilla-ness of our servers.

I tend to take my tags off when visiting other servers. It's annoying enough to get called out for being a girl, let alone being a part of eGO.

Since 2008, I have admined for what was one of the largest TF2 communities around. We were/are not a clan but the servers were very competitive with some of the best players in the game. Since TF2 went free to play and the community founder (my RL friend) went to work for Valve, the servers have died off and that's how I ended up here with you guys.

In all the years I spent there, eGO players were always the best when they played with us. They always followed the rules, acted appropriately and were great players who could hold their own in our community. It was nice.

I also had communications with one of your leaders about a guy I had to ban that apparently had also been banned from your servers and I appreciated the response I got from that admin. He was really respectful and cooperative with me. And I have played so many other games over the years with eGO, including CSS and WoW. Always had a good impression of each player I encountered.

So here I am 5 years later and wearing an =e= tag myself... funny how that works.

People don't like being killed by a girl, with or without tags. I get it all the time. It's the reason I came to eGO- happens less here.
