Half a league, half a league,
  Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death,
  Rode the six hundred.
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Death
  Rode the six hundred.

'Forward, the Light Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldiers knew
  Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
  Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
  Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
  Rode the six hundred.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,
Flash'd as they turned in air
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army while
  All the world wonder'd:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro' the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel'd from the sabre-stroke
Shatter'd and sunder'd.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
  Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro' the jaws of Death,
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
  Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
  All the world wonder'd.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
  Noble six hundred!

Hmmm was this a statement from George Washington by chance?

Lol no, The Charge of the Light Brigade was a charge of British light cavalry led by Lord Cardigan against Russian forces during the Battle of Balaclava on 25 October 1854 in the Crimean War. They lost badly as their attack was not planned good and was not coordinated XD

You'll take my life but I'll take yours too
You'll fire your musket but I'll run you through
So when you're waiting for the next attack
You'd better stand there's no turning back.

The Bugle sounds and the charge begins
But on this battlefield no one wins
The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath
As I plunge on into certain death.

The horse he sweats with fear we break to run
The mighty roar of the Russian guns
And as we race towards the human wall
The screams of pain as my comrades fall.

We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground
And the Russians fire another round
We get so near yet so far away
We won't live to fight another day.

We get so close near enough to fight
When a Russian gets me in his sights
He pulls the trigger and I feel the blow
A burst of rounds take my horse below.

And as I lay there gazing at the sky
My body's numb and my throat is dry
And as I lay forgotten and alone
Without a tear I draw my parting groan.

What a great poems about LoL

This poem is also about the death of innocence because of the miscommunications of leaders

Are you insinuating we all die because of Cael and Kazoo?
Nah, those two communicate well: it's all verbosity and cats. Now if you mean jhnsn, I would agree. That clown doesn't believe in vowel sounds. How is that effective communication?

+rep +1 for posting that thread. You da best ;)
This poem is really great to hear. Just think about what followed the crimean, german unification and italian unification then WW1 ,WW2 the french revolution, the spanish revolution, the russian revolution the U.S revolution, the Industrial revolution (Not necessarily chronological). But just think of all those events.. And the rise of the heros like Napoleon :P
So many revolutions that led to our world. Just imagine how the world would be if those never happened :o

Harry Turtledove's alternate history novels are fun to read. They give you crazy ideas of world history in alternate universes.

Will do, i don't think the world would be a better place if those wars never happened.those wars were the wars that made countries better. What is happening in the middle east right now is the same thing that happened in Europe 200 years ago. What happened in europe helped them shape their world, now it's happening to the middle east is just history getting repeated (same thing in korea) this is why we need to let them deal with their own problem an not interfere because only them know how they want to shape their country.
