Tf2 Lags

Ok, I'm useto TF2 doing its small freeze when i try to use my mic for the first time, but now at least 5 min's into any server It startst o freeze then unfreezes.

I have cleared out my system, Defraged and done all the basic stuff but no luck...This problem started about a year ago with the mic, but now its getten worse..any ideas how to fix?

Oh ya, All drivers are 100% upto date

Have you verified your Steam files? Are there any other bugs other than lag/freeze with the mic?

Also, do you know the model of your mic? Is it a headset combo?

Oh, and if you are using a built-in mic, make sure you are using the built-in outputs and inputs.

Yes, I have. Tf2 is the only steam game to do it.
The drivers for the mic are upto date, The game does not just freeze due to my mic, I could not even use it and it still freezes and unfreezes.

Disable Steam Cloud, delete your TF2 Folder, Verify the game's cache, add -autoconfig to the game's launch options (once), run the game and see if the problem still exists.

Since TF2 is the only game doing it, that helps narrow it down at least.

My pc is an Alienware only 2 years old and not even that just yet.
I can handle any of the new games thrown at me with max settings.

If you have lag problems there are auto.exec files that can make your game look like N64 graphics. I don't know if you're willing to play on such crappy graphic level but it can help a lot. Unless you already have it, then the only solution is to get a better computer.

That's a very common bug with TF2 and other source games.
The only way to fix it is to start a demo and then stop a demo;
