What to Do with Instagib? Round Two

Should we drop the Instagib server entirely or keep it to use for something else?

So in our first round of voting, certain proposals emerged that were clearly more popular than others. However, in the discussion, some people posed dropping the server altogether.

The question now is: should that server stay or go? There are already several servers of ours that could use more support, such as Payload and Valve Maps. These are servers that are not receiving much in the way of filling by the division and the community generally. Should our focus be on the servers we already have or do you want to keep the spare Instagib server and find a use for it as well?

I'm putting my vote on Keeping the server as it is. It is currently on teamfortress.tv's server list, and I'm not kidding.

I know there are people who say they hate it, but I certainly don't because this is what's helping me aim at your heads better on other servers.
There are players that are 10x or 20x better than me and most of them come over that server just to sharpen their edges on aiming, which helping me sharpen mines even more. Same applies to other players who are practicing and remembering their bad habits and mistakes so they can try not to do it again, which also makes it pretty fun to play after you know what you're doing.

My 2? right here.

Edit: I'd also like to say I'm currently the only FFTF Member/Captain who is very willing to fill up InstaGib as other tend to disregard the server due to either difficulty in filling or personally dislike the server. At least, that's what I've heard and seen.

I used to try filling when I was captain but...its not easy. Also its usually empty.
 
In all honesty, I think that having fewer great servers is better than having more good (or decent) servers.

Also do not drop it, having an extra server = more options / maps to play. Also we should just put orange map + low gravity + rtd i know it's annoying but people love it xD

I agree with Undercover. People love it anyway, but I would like to see eGO's take on the idea.

I say keep it.

The summer is fast approaching, and hopefully that will help keep our other servers filled. I say we leave Instagib as is (continuing to ignore its rank) until summer gets here, and then decide if we want to keep it, change it, or drop it. It seems like wasted effort if we drop a server now only to discover that we'd like to add a server come summer

I completely agree with this. Since summer is approaching and there might be changes anyways, maybe waiting it out for now is the best plan and then reevaluate it at another time.

I'm not seeing too many reasons why we would drop it. I mean, no one bothers to fill it, we always focus on the others, so why would focus be a reason? And if we can change it, why would money be a problem if it could potentially become popular? I say keep it and change it up. ASAP.

History has not borne that out. If anything, a decline sets in during the summer months as people go away for vacations. People who have more free time during the hotter seasons spend less of it indoors.

If I'm not mistaken, we really don't pay much attention to Instagib anyway, while filling. It has its own traffic and semi-regulars, completely different from the rest of the servers.

I say keep it. It's really a choice of whether or not we want it to be like all the other servers.
