The second match was quite fun (we played on a version of dod_forza, but I don't remember which). It was a lot closer than the 3-0 score suggests.
We defended as Axis in the first round, and used something of a back-defense strategy. The 6th attack was very cautious, but once they pushed to our second point we started to take casualties. They had a slight lead (5 survivors to 3, I think) with a minute or so left; however, their end-of-round push was a bit rushed. I think Dodgy and I were killing their last players as time ran out. If they had pushed at 1:00 instead of :30, they probably would have gotten us.
In the second round (where we attacked as Axis) we took some early losses but managed to even things out once we knew where they were. With a minute left, it was close; their last survivor took out Shy (or Dodgy?), but that revealed his position for Chuck to finish him off. We won that attack 1-0 or 2-0.
The third round was probably the only lopsided one; we defended as Allies. They sent a bunch via the riverbed/sewers; Shy (or someone else whose name starts with R or S) took out 3 or 4 there. Beret and Landshark did a good job of blunting their main-street push, but eventually fell. Their last two players split up - I finished one off as he dashed out of an archway, and the river watchers got the survivor who tried to flank us. It was a comfortable victory, but only because we kept enough people back to watch the river. If we'd tried a forward defense, they would have rolled us up.
As Q-tip said, they fought honorably and well - a very clean and enjoyable match all-around. They seemed especially patient when defending, and used shadows to their advantage.
