Well I tried adding a third monitor to my setup a few weeks ago to no avail, not sure what i'm doing wrong as I consulted my Motherboard manual.I tried connecting the third monitor to the integrated graphics card with it enabled of course, messed around with the settings a bit and still could not get it to work. Anyways here's what i'm dealing with

Current monitors: Dell P2210 (main monitor prefered center monitor in a three monitor setup, uses DVI on my Video card)
Second monitor: LG Flatron w2061tq (right side monitor, uses my second DVI port on my video card)
Third Monitor that I would like to use: AOC LCD monitor 2036s (would prefer to use this on the left side of my set up only has a VGA connection)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT-UD3H
GPU: Radeon HD 6850 BE

Well. Dont bother consulting your motherboard as I dont see a reason for it to be the issue. Have you contacted AMD about this issue at all? What troubleshooting have you already done other than read manuals and plug/replug things in and out?

Does your GPU support 2+ monitors on a DVI/HDMI connector? Currently from what I can find it does not. So unless your GPU is special in some way or are willing to upgrade, you are unable to do a 3 monitor display.

I don't think you understand, I need to use the onboard graphics card to use the third monitor that I want to use. Yes my GPU allows two monitors...how else would I be using two monitors that are connected using DVI onto my GPU...did you read my post? Did you look up the specs of the card?

You dont need to bite my head off for asking questions. If you want help you shouldnt bite at the hand that is trying to help, right? Regardless of how redundant the question is. You did not specify that you NEEDED to use only your on board graphics. You did not specify any troubleshooting other than "I spent two weeks trying to figure this out." What did you spend those 2 weeks looking up/attempting to fix?

Long story short - You arent able to do it unless AMD makes it so you can.

Here is a website I was polite enough to look up for you after you were so kind to me. Sadly AMD does not offer anything like this. Nor can I find anything that says its possible for AMD cards and dedicated GPU's to communicate like this.

sorry about being rude to you, my apologies . I thought it would be obvious stating that I used the 2 DVI connections on my GPU for two monitors already and that the other monitor, the third one I want to use is only VGA since I did give you needed specs.

Yes you are also correct, I did not tell you what I did, I enabled the onboard graphics, updated the drivers for the BIOS and the onboard graphics as well, set the amount of VRAM allocated to it and that is about all I recall.
 
But again, I do not see this being really possible unless you plan to upgrade your GPU or motherboard to an Intel platform. AMD (from what I can find) does not support using both an on board graphics and external graphics card in a 3 display setup. Nor 2 display.

Have you tried duplicating any of this with just 2 displays? As in, did you try hooking 1 monitor to your External card and 1 to the internal card and see if any of that works with the on board graphics?

No I have not tried that, I shall give that a try at some point. Thank you for your recommendations, sorry for coming off rude. I will give this a try and see what it does.
 
You could give it a try to see it a vga to dvi adapter works. same with hdmi to dp

Using adapters like this is very wonky. Some work and some dont. You might not get a true high definition. Problems with sound. Problems with aspect ratio's. Its not the best idea to use an adapter. Although you can, I dont recommend it. What I DO recommend is that you try to find a used and working GPU that matches yours then run them in crossfire for your 3 monitor setup. By the time you spend all the money on cords, adapters, special plugs and the time invested, you could've been done with it and only be out ~$100. I sold my 560Ti on craigslist for $75. Worked fine but I just upgraded.

Yeah I would love to find another one of these cards. I haven't searched for one in quite some time to be honest. I'll look around for one again see what I can come up with.
 
I'm really late to this conversation, but I think Cloaked got the answer correct. Simplest way to say it: If you're using a GPU, you cannot use the onboard mobo connection at all. Period. If you're GPU comes with multiple HDMI/DVI connections and a DisplayPort, you can then use a tri-monitor setup. I do believe that AMD is the ONLY manufacturer that has this option available; nVidia has only two connections allowed per GPU; AMD may have dual-DVI and a DisplayPort, or dual-HDMI and a DisplayPort.

Good luck on finding another card to go with the CrossFire option.

You won't be able to do this. Your card does allow you to do 3 monitors but only in a couple of ways:

1. DVI / DVI / DisplayPort
2. DVI / HDMI / DisplayPort

If you're going to use an adapter to connect to DisplayPort instead of your dell monitor make sure you pick up an active adapter and not a passive one! Here's an article on them so you know what to look for.
