Childhood Video Games?

We had an Intellivision. I grew up playing Burger Time, Tron Deadly Discs, Lock N Chase, Utopia, and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, now renamed Crown of Kings and remaining one of my favorite games of all time. (Intellivision just released the Intellivision Flashback console and I am in all sorts of nostalgia heaven)



We also had an Apple II/e with an orange monitor, and on that I specifically remember playing Exodus III and Eamon, which was a text-based game. Trollsfire.



Lastly, I had friends who had an NES, so of course I grew up with the original Super Mario Brothers, Mike Tyson's Punchout, and a few other games depending which friend's house I was at. Dick Tracy or Jaws anyone? Yikes!



Eventually we had an SNES, and in high school we got an N64, plus my dad needed a computer so I would dial up on AOL and search for demos or whatever I could get my hands on. Level designs in FPS games today really pale in comparison to the designs in games like Wolfenstein 3D and Doom.



When I graduated high school I used the open house money to buy a laptop for college. My first multi-player experience was plugging it into one phone line to call my dad's computer on the other line so that we could play Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Those were the days!



Anyone remember Chex Quest? Yeah, I just went there!

My first game system was a Game Boy Advance I may have gotten for my third or fourth birthday or so, which would later be superseded by the SP. I played Super Mario Advance 2, Mario Kart: Super Circuit!, Pok?mon Sapphire, etc. But there were also a lot of games that I had that were influenced by TV shows and movies I watched back then, so I also played SpongeBob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom and a certain Jimmy Neutron game whose name fleets my mind. Later, I got a PS2, where I would play games like Sonic Heroes, Shrek 2, ATV Offroad Fury 2, and another version of Battle for Bikini Bottom that had a striking resemblance in game mechanic to Mario 64. Of course, there was a movie rental store just down the street, so I was never in a shortage of retrospectively bad games to play.

Then I got a DS in 2004 and a Wii in 2006, and the rest is history.

I grew up with a NES and an older brother. First game i ever payed for was Mario 3 for NES.

Mainly all Ratchet & Clank games plus Jak and Dexter 1, 2, and 3.

By far both are my favorite video game series out there.

I wish they would re-release them they were so wonderful it's abandon ware now. The soundtrack to Mercenaries was awesome.

I actually found Mercenaries in the box with little to no damage on the case and not a single scratch on the disk this summer when I visited Arizona. Was around $25. :thumbup:

Besides the N64 games, when I started PC gaming around 6 - 8 yrs old or something like that, Mohaa and BF1942 were my favorite games.
